00:00Celebrity preacher Azman Shah Alias, better known as P.U. Azman, has been sentenced to
00:0524 years jail, and two strokes of the cane after the Klang Sessions court found him guilty
00:11on two counts of sexually assaulting a 17-year-old boy two years ago.
00:16Judge Norida Adam meted out the sentence after finding that the defence failed to raise reasonable
00:23doubt at the end of the trial.
00:25She imposed a 12-year jail sentence and one stroke of the cane for each charge and ordered
00:31him to undergo the sentence consecutively from Friday.
00:35Forty-three-year-old Azman was also ordered to undergo counselling throughout his time
00:40in prison and will be under police supervision for two years upon completing his sentence.
00:46Norida also rejected the application by Azman's lawyer for a stay of execution.
00:51During mitigation, Deputy Public Prosecutor Nurul Izati Mohamed presented the victim's
00:57impact statement to the court.
01:00It mentioned that the victim now suffers from prolonged trauma and has experienced both
01:05physical and emotional harm after the dark incident.
01:09The victim also lives in constant fear when in public, and the family is also embarrassed
01:15to participate in local community activities, Azman is facing nine more charges related
01:20to sexual crimes, namely five charges in the Seremban Sessions Court, two cases in
01:26the Shah Alam Sessions Court, and one case each in the Klang Magistrates Court and the
01:31Ampang Sessions Court.
