00:00Okay, so now let's get over to Missouri.

00:05The big vote coming up.

00:07Votes on everything across the country, of course, coming up in November.

00:10But as far as our universe is concerned, sports betting is our primary topic.

00:13It looks like one of the governors is also backing the idea to get sports betting going

00:18in Missouri.

00:19I mean, there does, Pat, seem to be quite a bit of momentum here.

00:23We don't know if it's going to cross the finish line because it's a vote, you know, like nobody

00:26really knows.

00:27I mean, it's completely unpredictable.

00:29It's like picking the outcome of a sporting event, but definitely a good amount of backing

00:33here.

00:34Yeah.

00:35I mean, it just keeps rolling in.

00:36And it seems every time I come on here, whether it's a week or every other day, which it seems

00:40like I've been on this week a couple of times, Missouri is in the news.

00:45And that is simply because it's the one state right now that the industry is looking at.

00:50Because as you said, there's no states really else on the potential chopping or I don't

00:56know, not chopping block, but on the up and up.

00:59So here we are coming less than two months, almost a month away from the election where

01:04Missouri sports betting is on the ballot.

01:07We've had a lot of things happen in the last couple of months.

01:10First it was certified for the ballot.

01:11Then there was a lawsuit to challenge it, which they sided with the secretary of state

01:16and his certification process.

01:18And then of course, there's been an opposition PAC started that's funded by Caesars because

01:22they're unhappy with the ballot question.

01:23And then on the other side, FanDuel and DraftKings are funding more than $20 million worth of

01:29contributions to a PAC started by the professional sports teams in the state.

01:34So there's your basic sides.

01:37This week, we've seen both gubernatorial candidates come out and support the amendment, which

01:42is kind of a big deal because if you're going out and you're voting for your person to be

01:46governor, you're very likely thinking about what they want to do on the amendments that

01:51are up, which includes sports betting.

01:55And so that's kind of a big deal.

01:57And so we'll see what happens again.

02:01To your point, it's a vote.

02:03Anything could happen, polls or whatever, which the latest polls, of course, show 52%

02:09are in favor of this amendment.

02:12Another 23% are undecided, again, polls and margins of errors, who knows?

02:19But here we are sitting pretty nice for the people who want this amendment.

02:23And then that includes the two gubernatorial candidates.

02:26And then just yesterday, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch came out and endorsed the amendment as well.

02:35So if readers are reading the newspaper and taking their word for it, there you go.

02:39There's another endorsement.

02:40So it is a lot of people lining up behind the legalization of sports betting in Missouri.

02:47They both, both gubernatorial candidates also endorse the use of the money for education,

02:53which Missouri is 47th in average teacher pay.

02:59And so they both say, you know, want to raise teacher wages and that would be huge from

03:03sports betting because the latest economic study, again, released this week, there's

03:07so much coming out of Missouri recently, is $38.7 million roughly annually at the peak

03:14in the next five years goes to the state for education.

03:18So a lot of news coming out of Missouri, a lot of positive movement for those who want

03:24sports betting to be legalized.

03:25But again, to your point, polls can be polls and say whatever, what it comes down to is

03:31election day.

03:32And, you know, again, we're just about a month out and we're going to be sitting on our hands

03:37watching this and seeing what happens in Missouri.
