00:00The Bureau of Immigration is urging for an inter-agency action
00:04when it comes to safeguarding the borders of the country,
00:07especially the coastal areas.
00:09This was after the Philippine Coast Guard arrested seven Chinese
00:15at Port of Navotas on September 15.
00:18They were attacked by the ship MV Sanko Uno
00:21due to the violation of the immigration laws of the country.
00:24According to the BIA spokesperson,
00:26Danna Sandoval, the agency plans to set up a one-stop shop
00:30for monitoring and centralized intelligence information.
00:34Meanwhile, the PCG turned over the seven Chinese nationals
00:40on September 20 to start the deportation proceedings.
00:44They do not have any document
00:47and are possibly illegal
00:49operating in the Philippine Coast Guard.
00:52The Immigration is also checking
00:53if those arrested have anything to do with the Pogo operation.
00:57For now, they are staying at Camp Bagundiwa in Bicutan, Taguig City.
01:04If the efforts of various agencies are joint,
01:08it will be better and bigger
01:10to monitor our borders.
