00:50That was the call of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. at the 49th Philippine National Prayer Breakfast,
00:57a gathering of officials from the government and various business and religious sectors.
01:04This is a far-reaching call for God's guidance to help leaders in the country
01:10to lead with strength, integrity, and love for their country.
01:15President Marcos said that this is a time for the country to face challenges
01:22after the next six typhoons pass.
01:26Considering the challenges that our fellow Filipinos have been facing since October 21,
01:32when severe tropical storm Christine entered our area,
01:37and until today as Typhoon Pepito crosses our archipelago,
01:42our collective faith and prayer to the Almighty is the most powerful tool that we have
01:48to weather these storms and the destruction that they bring.
01:52President Marcos also emphasized the importance of unity,
01:56regardless of our beliefs and culture.
02:00President Marcos, First Lady Liz Araneta Marcos, and other leaders of the country
02:08and encouraged the Filipinos to pray.
02:12When I pray, I only do two things in my prayers.
02:16I thank God for the blessings that we have already received,
02:20and I pray that He continues to bless me with wisdom, with compassion,
02:27and with the love of our country that will be forever undying.
02:32Aside from his words, he also prayed in more than 100 places around the world.
