The German government is in trouble. Its latest problem is that the joint leaders of the Greens, a member of the ruling coalition, just resigned. CGTN’s Trent Murray offers his analysis.

00:08The joint leaders of the Greens have just announced that they are resigning their positions.
00:13The pair said that the party needs a fresh start to recover from its worst crisis in
00:18decades.
00:19In three recent state elections, the Green Party vote collapsed and after years of rising
00:25support it's been a painful landing as their supporters drifted to more extreme left and
00:31right wing parties.
00:33And for Chancellor Olaf Scholz, the Green problem is also his problem because if his
00:38coalition crumbles, well he may just have to call early elections from a weakened position.
