Well thousands of workers have walked off the job at nine Volkswagen factories
00:05
across Germany as a bitter wage dispute between unions and the company's
00:10
management intensifies. VW is Europe's biggest automaker and it is facing
00:16
increasing financial pressure. Its latest Q3 results showed its profits
00:21
plummeting by 64% so it's trying to now save costs including asking its workers
00:28
to take a 10% pay cut. That has angered unions here they say today's strike is a
00:35
first warning and that if the issue isn't resolved it could turn into an
00:40
unlimited strike going into the new year.
