00:00The only point of contact between vehicle and road.
00:03Now this is something that is looked beyond, people don't give it that much importance.
00:07However, we are seeing manufacturers come in and release some pretty good tyres for the Indian market.
00:14Welcome to DriveSpark, I am Vedant Johari and today we are at Karim Motor Speedways,
00:18probably the best place in India to test out tyres, a very technical track.
00:23Now, Eurogrip Tyres has launched their Protox and their Roadhounds last year
00:30and we did get to test them out at that point.
00:33However, today we had a masterclass with Vakayama-san and Vittorio Iannuzzo,
00:38who is an Italian WSBK rider, to basically show us how to get the most out of these tyres
00:44and what these tyres are actually capable for.
00:46Well, around me, as you can see, we have a Harley-Davidson Street Rod, we have a Benelli 600i,
00:52we also have a Bajaj Dominar.
00:53Now, you might be wondering, this is a huge range of motorcycles that we have.
00:57However, that's exactly why we are here today, to test out these tyres on different sorts of motorcycles.
01:03Now, out of these three, the most track-oriented one is the Benelli 600i.
01:08This is shored with the Eurogrip Roadhound tyres.
01:10Now, it was super, super grippy on track.
01:14It's not a complete performance-packed motorcycle, it's made for the city and with slight performance riding.
01:20We rode it on a Benelli, we rode it on the Versys 650, we also rode it on the Ninja 650 and it was amazing.
01:28We did feel a slight slippage from the rear wheel because it's not a pure track-spec tyre,
01:33however, it provided ample amount of grip and substantial grip for what we require.
01:39Now, riding it around Khari, you are braking a lot, you are leaning a lot and you are quite hard on throttle around corners.
01:47And very, very few times did we actually feel our rear wheel lose control.
01:52Now, also we rode the Roadhound tyres on the Harley-Davidson.
01:55So, as you guys know, the Harley-Davidson Street Trial is really not made for the track, right?
01:59It's made for our everyday weekend excursions, it's made for our long trips and it's just made for chilling and cruising, having a good time.
02:06However, we did have a good time on track with the Roadhounds.
02:10This bike was phenomenal to ride, the tyres are super grippy, super easy to initiate from left to right and it's just wonderful to ride.
02:21Now, these tyres are extremely lightweight, not only did we ride it on track, Eurogrip also set up an obstacle course for us where they put out cones,
02:30so we had to slalom through it and we did it on all the motorcycles and even on the Harley, though it's a heavy bike, it's a longer motorcycle,
02:38the tyres are just perfectly designed to go to the left, to the right and just transition between each side.
02:46And now, coming to the Protorcs, the Protorc Extremes are the performance-oriented,
02:54we rode it on the Dominar, we rode it on the Duke 390 and it was wonderful.
02:59These Protorc tyres really have immense potential.
03:03This isn't only coming from me, this is also coming from Wakayama-san and Vittorio Iannuzo.
03:09Let me tell you a little bit when I was riding the Duke 390.
03:12So, as you know, the Duke is already a very powerful motorcycle, it's already an aggressive motorcycle
03:18and with these tyres on, you can push that bike to even further limits.
03:23So, the Duke 390, yeah, in spite of the slide bouncing around from the rear wheel, it would still grip each and every time,
03:30it wasn't like when it bounced, I felt uncomfortable that the wheel would slip out, would completely wash away,
03:36it just stuck.
03:37Each and every time I felt it lose traction, it would get back the traction and give us that confidence to go harder on the throttle.
03:44So, all in all, that was our Eurogrip Masterclass at the Karimotor Speedway,
03:49an absolute joy of a day, super fun day, super adrenaline-filled day and a lot, and a lot of smell of petrol,
03:58something I truly love.
04:00I hope you guys enjoyed this video, don't forget to like, comment and subscribe.
