The Department of Finance is confident that the country's inflation will continue to decline until next year.
00:07

00:33
According to the National Economic and Development Authority,
00:36
the overall inflation decreased by 3.3% in August
00:40
from 4.4% in July due to the slow food and non-food inflation,
00:44
where rice is the major inflation driver.
00:47
The food inflation decreased to 3.9% in August
00:52
compared to 6.4% in July
00:55
Due to this, the price of rice, meat, bread, other cereals, and ready-made food products increased.

There was also a deflation in the price of fish, vegetables, and sugar.

01:15
Meanwhile, in a press briefing in Malacanang,
01:17
Finance Secretary Ralph Recto said that the country's inflation is on a downward trend
01:22
where inflation is expected to fall by 2.5% this month.
01:26
It is expected that inflation will reach 2.9% to 3.1% next year.
01:32
The country's inflation is lower than the global average, which reached 5.9%.
01:38
The decrease in the price of rice also helped a lot
01:41
and it is expected to continue in the coming months.
01:44
The DOF also hopes that the price of rice will be lower this Christmas.
01:52

pero higit sa lahat, papababaan na rin yung interest rate, halimbawa sa credit card ng Ni Juan de la Cruz.
