00:00Personal remittances from overseas Filipinos rose by 3.3% to $3.20 billion in August.

00:09The hike was mainly due to higher remittances from land-based workers

00:13with contracts of one year or more, as well as from sea and land-based workers with shorter contracts.

00:20Total remittances from January to August 2024 rose by 3% to $24.74 billion

00:28with cash remittances at $2.89 billion in August.

00:33Year-to-date cash remittances rose by 2.9% to $22.22 billion.

00:40The growth was mainly from the U.S., Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Singapore.
