00:00Inflation or the rise in the price of products and services in the country has been slowing down since August 2024.
00:09According to the Philippine Statistics Authority, it was recorded at 4.4% in July 2024.
00:17The average inflation was recorded at 3.6% from January to August of the same year.
00:25According to the PSA, the main reason for the decline in inflation this August
00:31is the slow rise in the price of food and non-alcoholic beverages at a rate of 3.9% from 6.9% as recorded last July.
00:44Meanwhile, the National Economic Authority or NEDA said that the slow rise in inflation
00:51will help families and businesses because it promotes consumer spending that stimulates economic activity in the country.
01:01According to NEDA Secretary Arsenio Balizacan, the government will continue to implement measures to lower inflation.
01:11This includes improving agricultural productivity, expanding logistics infrastructure,
01:18and ensuring proper access to social services for the people.
