Here's my reaction to the game between the Chicago Bears & Indianapolis Colts from Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
Transcript
00:00Good inside pressure, like you said, Houdini's a good work for him, but he's going to give it up doing that.
00:06Torrey Taylor is a rookie drafted in the fourth round out of Iowa.
00:10Colts and the Bears.
00:13Anthony Gould signals for a fair catch between the numbers in the sideline near side around the 16 yard line.
00:19The Bears.
00:216.34 to go in the first quarter.
00:24Scoreless here still between the Colts and the Bears.
00:27Colts are going to have the ball first in 10.
00:29On their second drive of the game upcoming starting at the 17 yard line when we come back.
00:34On the Ascension St. Vincent Radio Network.

00:54Because the TV is half them doing the half the Bears running so.

02:14This week's Small Business Spotlight presented by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield goes
02:20to Divine Construction, an Air Force veteran-owned business with a focus on roofing new builds
02:25and projects like construction.
02:27Ray was already back to the stack of games while CBSF is still up on the commercial break.
02:58Richardson goes out of the gun.
02:59The back behind him, of course, is Jonathan Taylor.
03:02Turn right side.
03:03They give it to Taylor.
03:04Taylor cuts it up.
03:05He's at the 20-yard line.
03:06Marches forward.
03:07And he gets to the 21 before he's halted.
03:10Gain of about six right there.
03:12Yep.
03:13That's just what we want.
03:14If we can pound them like that.
03:15Remember, as good as their defense is, they're only 15th against the Rush Purse.
03:20So they're a little bit mediocre when it really comes to the run defense.
03:24Spotted the 22 for JT last week.
03:27Led the team in rushing.
03:2812 carries for 103 yards.
03:30All that came before the fourth quarter.
03:33And his 100-yard gain came on the lowest workload he's ever had.
03:38Second down and five.
03:40The 22.
03:41Richardson out of the gun.
03:42And gives it to Taylor.
03:44Taylor again with a pull at his team.
03:46And he bulldozes his way across the 25 to the 27-yard line.
03:50Near a first down.
03:53Yeah, TV's way a little bit behind what the radios give you.
04:11CBS has it at second and six.
04:15The radios said it was second and five.
04:18The crowd here making a lot of noise.
04:20Those that cheer for the Bears.
04:22Taylor, Taylor first down.
04:25Limps out of the tackle.
04:26Gets it to the 31-yard line for a gain of five.
04:29DeMarcus Walker made the tackle.
04:31But the sticks will move for the Colts.
04:33That's their first down of the game.
04:34Yeah, three runs right at them.
04:36And that's going to be demoralizing.
04:38And I feel like you can do that to them.
04:40Then the passing game will be there.
04:42Because pretty soon, those three actions over the middle are going to be wide open.
04:46But if you keep establishing a run, you keep that defense on its heels.
04:51And I said, I said that Pittsburgh was going to win.
04:55I mentioned that during the Pan Am game seconds.
04:59I said that Tom Stewart was going to win.
05:05So far, it's the Chargers.
05:10DeMarcus Walker.
05:13And he assists.
05:20Also in his face was Montez Sweat.
05:22We got the clarification there.
05:23No intentional grounding.
05:24The nearest man there was Moelle Cox.
05:27And that's going to bring up second down in ten, four and a half minutes to go.
05:30In the first quarter, we're still scoreless here between the Colts and the Bears.
05:33Bears had that one.
05:34They had that one.
05:35It spilled out pretty well.
05:38Richardson goes out of the gun here in second down and long.
05:41Tied in right is Drew Ogletree.
05:42Michael Pittman, Jr. over that way as well.
05:44Jonathan Taylor is in the backfield to the right of Richardson.
05:47Now the CPS is doing the work with the defense right now.
05:53And twisted down.
05:54The ball comes out, though.
05:55Around the 23-yard line, there's a five-four.
05:57And Chicago's got the ball.
05:59It's a strip sack.
06:00And recovered by Andrew Billings.
06:03He's trying to make a play.
06:05But he's got to know when the play is over.
06:08Moelle Cox was in the area.
06:11And there was no intentional grounding there.
06:15We're rolling on the field.
06:17We've got the quarterback's floor.
06:18Carvers was stopped before he got it.
06:20Yes.
06:21Yes, and it was.
06:24Well, it is so loud in here both ways.
06:27A lot of Colts fans, a lot of Bears fans.
06:29So you're going to get cheering on every play, inevitably.
06:32And it was tough to hear the whistle.
06:34And so they blew the play dead, again,
06:36as the Bears had Anthony Richardson in the grasp,
06:39in the pocket, and then blew the play dead
06:42before the ball came out,
06:44negating what would have been a fumble recovery.
06:46It is ruled a sack by Chicago.
06:48Now it sets up third and 21.
06:50And Montez Swint gets credit for the sack.
06:53Yeah, yeah, he just killed Braden Swint.
06:55Off the 28-yard line for the Colts.
06:58Wide receiver screen.
06:59Left side, this is Josh Downs following a couple of blockers,
07:02weaving his way through traffic.
07:03He's crossed the 30,
07:04and he's going to weave his way up to the 34-yard line
07:07for a gain of 14.
07:08But that was third and 21.
07:10And now we've got some extracurriculars there.
07:12Overton, it is chippy early here.
07:15It's a lot of physicality down here in the face of Braden Swint.
07:18He was the last one to come out of it.
07:20He's had a lot of trouble over on that right side,
07:22and they have been feasting on giving them trouble to this point.
07:26And you can see after the play was dead,
07:28there were several of the Chicago defenders getting into the face.
07:31It looked like in the middle of it was Ryan Kelly,
07:33who wasn't even going their direction, but they came straight at them.
07:36So, yeah, it is chippy.
07:38It is physical.
07:39You know there is no love lost in the trenches in this game.
07:43All right, so fourth and eight for the Colts.
07:46After the sack, going to doom that possession.
07:48Rigo Sanchez digs out a low long snap, gets it away.
07:51Carter's back deep to receive.
07:53He's underneath it.
07:54Around the 16-yard line, gets off the initial tackle.
07:57And here comes the convoy for the Colts to bring him down.
08:01Three or four Colts finish off the job, along with Chigun Alubi.
08:06And Grant Stewart was down there chasing the play as well.
08:11Just sacked.
08:12There's nowhere for you to go.
08:13Tuck the ball away, and you click to see another play.
08:16Yeah, it's hard as a young player who feels like he can still be the hero.
08:20Yeah, the radio was a little bit ahead of what CBS is showing now.
08:29They already had the Colts running, and now the TV has joined the fun.
08:39At the 16.
08:41And Carter is taken down.
08:44That was Trevor Denbo who made the special teams tackle with 3.05 to go.
08:51A 50-yard punt loss and two on the return.
08:54No score in Indy.
08:58We're not going to win a game all season.
09:00Yeah, but at least we're not going to lose a tailgate all season.
09:03How do you lose a tailgate?
09:04Adult.
09:05Yes, that energy.
09:07We literally can't lose.
09:13While other sauces rush, we take it slow.
09:16Simmering sweet Italian tomatoes in open kettles.
09:19Slow is good.
09:21Unless you're face-to-face with a linebacker.
09:24Rare is homemade. Make everyday delicious.
09:29Fall is a season that's all about change.
09:33And we get it. It can be a lot to navigate.
09:37But what if we embrace not having it all figured out?
09:41Wherever this time of year takes you, we're here to help you shift seasons in style.
09:47So lean into the excitement for what's ahead.
09:51Because this fall, we've got a lot to look forward to.
09:55Your fall favorites are here.
09:57Are you contending that it's greedflation?
10:00What does the chairperson of the Federal Trade Commission have to do with the price of your food and medicine?
10:05More than you can imagine. 60 Minutes Tonight.
10:08For the new CBS comedy, Papa's House, there's just one name you need to remember.
10:12I'm Damon.
10:13Well, technically, they're two.
10:15I am also Damon.
10:17Damon Wayans and Damon Wayans Jr. in Papa's House.
10:19We love it, love it, love it, love it, love it!

10:52Welcome back to Columbus Oil Stadium where it remains scoreless between the Bears and the Pulse.
10:56Last week, the Chicago Bears hosted 25 members of My Block, My Hood, My City at practice.
11:02My Block, My Hood, My City is a Chicago-based organization that offers underprivileged youth
11:07the chance to be exposed to various communities, cultures, and professions.
11:11Afterwards, players and coaches met with the group, signing autographs and taking photos.
11:17All right, AJ, great stuff. Thank you so much.
11:20During the commercial break, we chatted with Gene's territorial rules analyst.
11:24It's hard to officiate a guy like Anthony Richardson because he's so strong in the pocket.
11:28Yeah, he is big.
11:30He brought up Ben Roethlisberger as an example of a guy that he used to officiate
11:34that you want to give him that extra time to use his strength to shake you,
11:38but you're also trying to protect him.
11:40So there's some clarity in there for the officials of when to blow that whistle.
11:46Williams had first down to the outside.
11:48DJ Moore playing his 100th career NFL game.
11:52Picks up five yards. Jalen Jones on the coverage.
11:55In the pregame, Jason and I chatted a little bit about how it's hard for young quarterbacks sometimes
12:01to do the boring, to take the easy throws, to get enamored with something big needs to happen.
12:07This is a perfect example of it.
12:09You got DJ Moore running an out. It's open. Just take it.
12:13Don't think you need harder than that. Just take the easy throw.
12:16Get positive yardage on first down and set up second.
12:23On the ground with Johnson, and he picks up the first down.
12:27Back to New York, keeping JJ Watt busy. Here's an NFL Today update.
12:31Guys, we have got a pick six in Tennessee. Will Levis looking for hop.
12:35And Jire Alexander watches himself a little bit of film.
12:38Takes it in. 35 yards for the touchdown. 17-7 Packers.
12:43He's got a couple of DBs up there we know a little bit about.
12:46Bears fans know that sight as well as Tyreek Stevenson had a pick six against Will Levis back in week one.
12:54A lot going on in Tennessee. Will Levis fumbles, interceptions.
12:58A pick six, a quarterback running down the sideline. I don't know if there's a better sight in the game of football.
13:03Stop it.
13:05Johnson running left.
13:08And he gets two yards on the play.
13:11Because there's a pick six. I mean, my quarterback threw an interception.
13:14And I got to go chase it down.
13:16Well, that was the one thing as a defender, you knew the running back was going to be the one guy on the offense.
13:21That was going all out to make a tackle.
13:23That's right.
13:24It's really important. Actually, the receivers are too far downfield.
13:27And they don't want to hit it.
13:29The linemen aren't close enough. So the only person that's available to potentially make that play is the running back.
13:36Don't make me into my brother. That's what I always used to say.
13:42Down he goes.
13:52Oh yeah, there you go.
13:54Oh yeah, there you go.
13:56Oh yeah, there you go.
13:58Oh yeah, there you go.
14:11Just throwing Jenkins off him and getting in there, making the sack.
14:15That right there is a cover sack.
14:17Nobody's open. He's forced to eat the ball.
14:19And the D-line makes a petty.
14:22And the left tackle Braxton Jones is still down on the ground for the Chicago Bears.
14:30An offensive line that has not played well in the first two weeks.
14:34It already has Ryan Bates on interim reserve.
14:37And while the Bears attend to Jones, we'll step aside and come right back.
