Oklahoma vs. Tennessee: An Unexpected Football Bet Series

00:00Now, this is the game that is going to sucker me right in, as they say, Bill, because this
00:10one I don't get at all, as long as I've watched football.
00:14And I know the Sooners have had not Sooner-ish type football over the last couple of years
00:20with Brent Venables, but with Bob Stoops and everybody else that they've had there, taking
00:25Oklahoma at home was just as easy, an easy bet, generally, through the years.
00:30I mean, 20-point favorites, 30-point favorites, they end up winning by, like, 50, 60.
00:35Getting seven and, in some spots, seven and a half points against University of Tennessee,
00:40look, the volunteers have played as well as any team in the country thus far.
00:44They deserve that ranking of being number six.
00:47So what am I not seeing here?
00:50This feels, honestly, like a trap bet by me taking Oklahoma this week.
00:54I must be missing something.
00:55I'm stunned that it's this many points.
00:57I'm also stunned that this is moving towards seven and a half and eight.
01:01I'm going to try to talk you out of it this way.
01:03I think this Tennessee team's very good, with Nico Yamaliava, the running game behind Dylan
01:09Sampson, the added motivation of Josh Heupel, the former Oklahoma quarterback, coming in
01:14there and playing against his former team, essentially.
01:18And Oklahoma's only been an underdog at home one time this century.
01:24A game against Ohio State in 2016, they lost that game 45-24.
01:29So the fact that this line is what it is tells me that it's okay to believe that Tennessee
01:34is this good, that they can go down there.
01:36I get the pride factor.
01:38One thing I'm worried about with Oklahoma is the pass protection on Jackson Arnold,
01:42the young quarterback.
01:43Tennessee can get after it up front.
01:45James Pierce has been quiet to this point.
01:47Craig, I get everything you told me last week about having a team come in and the home team
01:53is getting that many points.
01:55I still think the balls are going to cover.
01:57It might be tight.
01:58I'd like them to win by 10 points.
