00:00We're celebrating Negroni Week all month.
00:03So, everyone who lives in Manchester will have heard of Rudy's and they're running a very interesting promotion to celebrate Negroni Week.
00:10I'm going to talk to one of the bartenders here about this promotion which apparently wins you a free pizza.
00:14Hi, I'm Daniel Bower, bar manager at Rudy's Pizza Street and we've got a promotion for Negroni Week that lasts all month.
00:21We have our own t-shirts and our own designs for posters.
00:24With the t-shirts, you're entitled to a free pizza and a free Negroni every time you come in for the rest of the month.
00:30We definitely have a few regulars who we see come in wearing the shirts every day.
00:35It's quite funny, in fact, we see them come in on their break from work in the office.
00:39So, they'll slam the Negroni t-shirt over the top of their regular suit and tie.
00:43So, in terms of what makes Rudy's Negroni special, is it the things that you put in it or is it the process?
00:49So, the Negroni is a stir down cocktail that originates from Italy.
00:53We'll get our chilled glass ready to start with and from there, we'll combine all of the ingredients in a large shaker glass.
01:00We've got the Campari, we've got the Sweet Vermouth and we've got the Tanqueray Gin as well.
01:05With only three ingredients, the Negroni is one of the simpler cocktails we do here.
01:09It has a very dry flavor profile and because of the stirring method we use,
01:14we'll be doing it for about 30 to 45 seconds to ensure that the spirits are not too diluted but remain perfectly chilled.
01:22It's a labor of love. It takes a little bit longer than a more complex cocktail might, but I think the results speak for themselves.
01:30There are other places that will pre-batch the Negronis. It may be quicker, it may be faster,
01:36but I think every cocktail, especially Negronis during Negroni Week, should be bespoke.
01:40Unfortunately, they have sold out t-shirts here, so if you're keen to get in on this promotion,
01:45you are going to have to do a little bit of a hunt to try and find a location in Manchester where you can get them.
01:49They do have some really cool prints as well, so go out, go have a look, see if you can win a free pizza,
01:54see if you can get a free Negroni too.
01:56For Manchester World and More, I'm Theo Houston-Betts.
