Hello I'm Michelle from the Lancaster Guardian with your latest regional news.
00:05
Lancaster's first CBD coffee shop has closed down due to the cost of living
00:10
crisis. Downwood Coffee Shop on Penny Street in Lancaster offered CBD infused
00:16
cannabidiol, coffee and food and was the only CBD shop in Lancaster. Owners of the
00:23
coffee shop said on Facebook it comes with a heavy heart and great sadness
00:27
that on September 13th we will be closing the doors of Downwood Coffee
00:32
Shop. With the rise of the cost of living which we believe to be affecting not
00:36
only businesses but people themselves we as a business have had to come to an end.
00:42
A police investigation is underway after a man in his 70s was attacked by a gang
00:47
of teenagers on the Guild Wheel in Preston. The 73 year old was jumped by
00:53
the youths while walking on the route next to the River Ribble at around 4.15
00:57
p.m. on Tuesday September the 10th. The teenagers clad in black sportswear and
01:04
black balaclavas fled the scene towards Broadgate. The injured and shaken
01:09
pensioner suffered a broken arm and was taken to hospital for treatment. Tributes
01:15
have been paid to a lifeboat crewman who sadly died. Lytham St Anne's RNLI
01:20
announced the death of volunteer crew member Josh Wilder on September the 14th.
01:26
Sharing the sad news on Facebook the RNLI said it is with incredible sadness
01:31
that we have to announce the passing of volunteer crew member Josh Wilder.
01:36
Josh joined Lytham St Anne's lifeboat crew in 2019. He was a valued and highly
01:42
respected member of our crew and he will be greatly missed. Hundreds of people
01:47
have since paid tribute to Josh including RNLI lifeboat stations across
01:52
the UK. A Wigan Borough property that had become a frequent site for anti-social
01:58
and criminal incidents has been given an additional three-month closure order. The
02:03
order originally put in place in May for 12 Heron Place, Kit Green was extended
02:09
for a further three months by Wigan Magistrates Court. The action means only
02:13
the named tenants, council officers and the emergency services are permitted to
02:18
enter the property with the aim of stopping criminality taking place at the
02:22
property. The police are appealing for information after a child was involved
02:29
in a road traffic collision in Burnley. The incident took place on Friday
02:34
September the 6th between 5.30 p.m. and 6.30 p.m. close to Burnley Wood Park in
02:40
Branch Road. Officers believe the vehicle involved was black and possibly an Audi.
02:46
Police are asking if anyone knows who the driver was or the driver themselves
02:51
to come forward. As for the weather today it will be fine and dry with plenty more
02:56
sunshine with a maximum temperature of 20 degrees centigrade. For all these
03:02
stories and more please visit our websites.
