00:05Two shoplifters were arrested after stealing from businesses in Garsdank and found to have

00:10a boot full of stolen items. Prompt action from the businesses, neighbourhood policing officers,

00:17immediate response officers and roads policing officers spoilt the getaway.

00:22Police found jars of coffee, washing tablets and alcohol in the car boot.

00:27Two people were charged with theft and have been remanded to court.

00:32A woman had her hands and feet bound by a burglar who broke into her home and demanded money.

00:38Police were called to Golden Hill Lane in Leyland at around 12.40am on Thursday, May 30th.

00:46It was reported a man had gained entry into a house and tied a woman's hands and feet before

00:50demanding money. The suspect stole cash and left when the victim's partner arrived home.

00:58Detectives are now appealing for witnesses, CCTV or dash cam footage to help catch the

01:04man responsible. The Met Office has issued a weather warning for thunderstorms in Lancashire

01:09today. The yellow warning will be in place from 11am to 9pm and covers the whole of the

01:15north-west region. The forecaster says showers will develop later on Tuesday morning, becoming

01:22heavy with some thunderstorms through the afternoon and early evening. A child suffered

01:28a head injury after being hit by a car near a school. The four-year-old boy collided with a

01:33vehicle outside Hope School in Marist Bridge at 3.40pm on Monday. The boy was taken to hospital

01:40for treatment to the head injury, which is not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

01:46A clean-up operation is underway following a fire at Gospel Mission Hall in Barnoldswick on Saturday,

01:53which could have released asbestos cement debris into the local area. Pendleborough Council swept

01:59the streets and hand-delivered letters to homes in the immediate area on Sunday with advice.

02:05It's now working with the landowner to ensure the site is cleared and secured as quickly as possible.
