00:00Hey guys, welcome to my double digit edition worksheet. Today I wanted to show you how
00:08to work with a few problems. Let's get started.
00:15I want to work on that problem, 73 plus 18.
00:24Now we already have the problem written with the numbers in the right columns, so let's
00:28jump in. When adding multiple digit numbers, we start in the 1s column here with the 8
00:34and the 3. What is 8 plus 3? 11, 8 plus 3 is 11. We need to remember that 11 is a two
00:44digit number, so we are only going to put the 1 down here in the 1s column. Now we carry
00:49the 1 in the 10s position up here.
00:54We have finished adding the 1s column, so now we add everything in the 10s column. We
00:59get 1 plus 7 plus 1. What does that equal? We get 9! Great job! 1 plus 7 is 8, and 8
01:10plus 1 is 9. So the answer is 91. 73 plus 18 is 91. You guys are really good! I want
01:21to find one more to work on. Here we have 25 plus 38. Just like before, we need to start
01:30adding in the 1s column. What is 5 plus 8? 5 plus 8 is 13. Good job! Now, just like we
01:40learned before, 13 is a two digit number, so we put the 3 down in the 1s column, and
01:45the 1 in 13 goes up in the 10s column to be added next. Great job so far! Now we need
01:53to add the 10s column. We have 1 plus 2 plus 3. What does that equal? 6! Great job! So
02:01we put the 6 down here in the 10s column. So what is the answer to 25 plus 38? The answer
