00:05in Eskoda Shoal and has ordered the Philippine Coast Guard, or PCG, to redeploy its assets

00:14National Maritime Council, or NMC, spokesperson Alexander Lopez says this order from the chief

00:19executive doesn't merely mean physical presence, but continuous strategic presence that can

00:25be felt in the area.

00:27He added, there seems to have been a wrong perception recently that others viewed as

00:32less Philippine presence after the BRP Teresa Magbanwa pulled out of Eskoda Shoal.

00:38The NMC official explained there are other ways to effectively monitor the area, like

00:44aerial surveillance and the use of the country's technical surveillance capability, and asking

00:49for assistance from allied nations.
