00:00Russia has weighed in on the latest assassination attempt against former President Trump.
00:04On Monday, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov was asked about the incident.
00:08He replied, it is not us who should be thinking,
00:10it is the US intelligence services who should be thinking.
00:13Anyway, playing with fire has its consequences.
00:16Of course, we are closely monitoring the information that comes from the United States
00:20and we see how tense the situation there is, including between political competitors.
00:25The political struggle is escalating and a variety of methods are being used.
00:29The playing with fire comment was presumably a reference to America's
00:32involvement in Russia's war against Ukraine.
00:34The alleged would-be assassin, Ryan Ruth, supported Ukraine passionately.
00:38He traveled to Kiev in 2022 and told journalists he was attempting
00:42to recruit others to join the war effort against Russia there.
00:45I think, you know, everybody around the globe should be motivated to come here
00:49and support the Ukrainians, support the army, no matter what gender, age, anything.
00:54According to The Independent, Ruth's social media posts
00:57indicate that he supported Trump in 2016 but later turned against him.

01:03I am glad to hear that at real Donald Trump is safe and unharmed.
01:07The rule of law is paramount and political violence has no place anywhere in the world.
