Traditional games and community sports across the diverse ethnic landscape of Malaysia are put under the spotlight again with the Malaysian Games Festival @ Kuala Lumpur 2024 in full swing.

at the 9th edition of the Malaysian Games Festival.

The four-day festival, which will end on Monday, features plank walking,

are also some of the highlights of the event.

There is also a rope pulling contest,

with the participation of teams from Brunei, Taiwan and Singapore,

as well as 60 local Malaysian clubs.

The event also showcases exhibitions, product sales and games

from Sabah, Sarawak and the indigenous community.

The Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry said many social activities in the past

had started with games,

but children nowadays are less inclined towards outdoor activities.

The festival is set to draw some 150,000 people,

bringing together schools, businesses, groups and NGOs

and bridging the gap between them.

The organisers said through the event,

they will continue to promote communication among the multiracial people of Malaysia
