00:00Hi Karen, we spoke to you last night at the THR nominees party. How was it? Did you have the time
00:04of your life? Oh my god, I danced, I had fun, I took pictures which are on my IG right now.
00:16It was a great, that house was amazing. I mean, I met all the reporters that I see on the round
00:24table, on the actor round table, on the director round table that I really admire who's so smart
00:29and ask so many good questions and in general I had a good time. It was our first party of
00:35the Emmy weekend and so it was great, it was fun, it was great to celebrate. Yeah,
00:41well I saw you tearing it up on the dance floor. Oh my god. Yes, but now we're being very demure,
00:46it's a tea party. Very demure, as you can see I'm dressed in my most demure
00:51outfit. I love the bow. Yes, the bow. Last night I was in red, today I'm quite demure.
00:57I love it. So since this is a tea party, I wanted to ask if you can spill the tea on a few things
01:02for me. Okay, let's spill it. Okay, so let's spill the tea on the best thing you've seen on TV this
01:07year. Well, that's probably Jessica Gunning who's standing right over there talking to somebody
01:13in Baby Reindeer. I thought she was extraordinary. I've never seen her before, whoever the casting
01:17director is for that show, I need to know them. They're amazing. I thought that, that's one of
01:22my favorite shows of all time, so I'm spilling the tea on how great Jessica Gunning is, yeah.
01:27I love that, I love that. Who was the last person from the morning show that you texted,
01:32and what was it about? I texted Greta Lee going into this big weekend, wanted to see how she was,
01:43and I sent a picture to Mark Deplass from pictures we took last night. He's so fun and
01:50so great, and I saw him and his wife Katie last night, so it's fun, great time, yeah.
01:57The next show that you would love to guest star on? Abbott Elementary. Abbott, I think Quinta
02:03Brunson is so smart and so fun and so gorgeous, and I love that show, and I would really love
02:12to guest on that show at some point. Did you talk to her last night? Did we pitch that out there?
02:16Oh yeah, I definitely talked to her about it. I definitely pitched it. I've been pitching it for
02:19a year now. She's got this cute little new haircut. She's just adorable. She already looks
02:25about, you know, 20. Now she looks 15. So yeah, she's so cute and great, and just really a powerhouse
02:34of a showrunner, writer, actress. Just love her. Would love to work with her at some point.
02:39And finally, the first job you had in Hollywood?
02:43What was the first job I had? Here, where I went to set one day?
02:50In Hollywood? That may have been the, it's not the first job I got in Los Angeles,
02:56but the first, oh no, the first job I got was on a show. Oh my gosh, what's her name?
03:06Who's Rosanna Arquette's sister?
03:19Patricia Arquette's television show many, many, many years ago, and I was pregnant with my
03:25daughter. And I was like, maybe very early in my pregnancy, maybe like six, seven weeks,
03:32but I got in this job and I was so excited. It was one of my first few jobs in LA,
03:36and I was so, so tired. And I was standing all day and Patricia came up to me and said,
03:42hi, how are you doing? Because I was looking like a little, you know, hi, how are you doing? Are you
03:46all right? What's going on? And I was like, little known secret, I'm pregnant and I've been on my
03:51feet all day. And she was like, somebody, somebody come over here and give her a chair. She was so
03:55kind, so sweet, so mothering because she knew exactly what it was like, you know, and that was
04:01back in 2008. Yeah, yeah, when I was pregnant with my daughter. So that was my first job.
04:07And here we are now, right?
04:09Here we are! Isn't that crazy? Oh my gosh. Anyway, yeah.
04:14Well, congratulations again on everything and enjoy, grab some tea, right?
04:18I'm going to have some tea.
