00:00The Department of Agriculture or DA will begin the blood testing of hogs vaccinated against African
00:06swine fever or ASF. The DA will assess whether the vaccinated hogs have produced antibodies
00:12against ASF. Six of the 41 hogs are vaccinated from two farms but one died as crippled by accident.
00:22Five additional pigs from a separate farm which were suspected to have respiratory disease and
00:27were in an area with high ASF infection pressure died from the disease. Currently the remaining
00:33ASF vaccinated hogs are healthy. As the weather disturbance approaches the DA urges to strengthen
00:40the biosecurity measures on hog farms and from August 21 active ASF cases increased from 458
00:49rather to 472 barangays and in October the DA will expand ASF vaccination efforts to prevent
00:56the spread of the viral disease.
