00:04the north-west.
00:05Tributes are flooded in to a Preston 16-year-old who tragically died after suffering severe
00:11injuries in a car crash earlier this week.
00:14Adam Bodie of Lauderdale Street Brogate has been described as a popular, bright, confident
00:20and fantastic young man, with family, friends and loved ones paying tribute to the 16-year-old
00:25who was rushed to hospital after being involved in a car crash on Chain Court Way on Tuesday
00:30September 10th.
00:31After emergency services were called to report a collision, officers and attendants found
00:36an Audi A3 Sport which had been travelling towards Leigh and which had left the carriageway
00:41and collided with trees.
00:43Both Adam, who sat in the rear seat, and the 18-year-old driver, now named as Hafid Umar
00:48Mahmood, have since sadly died of their injuries.
00:53A retired nurse from Wigan, who owns a giant tortoise as her therapy pet, takes him for
00:57a walk on the beach every week.
01:01Jackie Leake, 58, who suffers from myeloma and has breast cancer, owns a very special
01:08African Sulcata tortoise that she calls Mr Miyagi.

01:22always accompanies them.
01:25In other news, Blackpool Pleasure Beach Resort has defended the increased cost of its 2025
01:30pass after criticism that the rise was too steep.
01:35The price of the new pass at the popular amusement park is £225 per person, compared to £189
01:42for the current version, a 19% rise.
01:46Among the customers unhappy with the extent of the hike was Carl Rogers, who thought it
01:50was a big leap for pass holders to fork out.
01:54A Lancaster takeaway owner has rejected accusation his business is linked to modern slavery.
02:00Rudolph Kalaku of Flames on Rosewood Lane, Lancaster, also denied suggestions of money
02:05laundering at a licensing review.
02:08He said £40,000 stuffed inside the safe was due to be put in the bank despite police suspicions
02:14it was being kept out of the formal banking system, but he has accepted breaching immigration
