00:00Especially Vietnamese people is praying for the rain to stop and the flood to deseed.
00:06Meanwhile, we are not just sitting and waiting.
00:09Rescue forces, organization and individual supporters are doing the best they can to
00:14assist people in the areas affected by Yagi Typhoon.
00:19In response to disaster, Vietnam has launched a massive rescue and relief operation.
00:25Over 438,000 personals including soldiers, disaster response experts and volunteers are
00:31currently on the ground.
00:33Teams are working around the clock to locate those still missing, while medical units are
00:38attending to hundreds of injured survivors.
00:41The rescue forces in Hanoi have been very proactive since the storm arrival.
00:47On the first day, I think it was about Saturday, they were quick to respond to report all the
00:53fallen trees, the flooded streets and they've been working around the clock to clear that
00:59the roadway, repair power lines and help evacuate people from areas most at risk.
01:07And we have the notification on Salo, on SMS for the people, allow that is we need to stay
01:16at home before the storm is coming.
01:19So in more severely affected province closer to the coast, rescue teams have been even
01:25more active, because on the Saturday, the storm, the Yagi Typhoon come first in Quang
01:34Ninh province and also in Hai Phong city.
01:38So conducting both rescue and providing shelter to displaced families.
01:44The powerful storm hit the northern provinces just days ago, causing widespread destruction.
01:50Vietnamese people across the country are closely following updates on the typhoon, ready to
01:56take action in support of citizens in the affected areas.
02:00There are several kinds of campaign to support those in need, from the donation of some essentials
02:07to fundraising efforts.
02:10My colleagues and I have joined in a fundraising activity.
02:14I think it's heartwarming to see everyone is contributing because I think it's really
02:19important for people to come together in times like this because we are a part of a larger community.
02:25As rescued efforts continue, authorities are urging the public to remain cautious as heavy
02:31rains could continue to trigger further landslides and floods.
02:34Recovery will be a long and difficult process, but with the support from local and international
02:39organizations, Vietnam is determined to overcome this.
02:43We'll keep you updated as the new information comes in.
02:46For now, our thought remains with those who are affected by the typhoon.
