00:00The wedding of Mr. Kaesang and Mrs. Erina, the daughter of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Jokowi, has been taken from us.
00:17Of course I am very proud because this is an amazing job.
00:22Coincidentally, I am not from here, I am from Sumatera, from Palembang, and I know a little bit about Javanese culture.
00:33So for the philosophy of my life, I love culture as much as I love myself.
00:53I am Yusuf Wahyu Kintoko, also known as Wahyu.
00:58I am one of the vendors in Yogyakarta who specializes in Javanese traditional decoration.
01:09In our traditional decoration, we have been doing this since 1994.
01:17The traditional decoration is usually used for weddings,
01:24including for the purpose of giving gifts or for the needs of the bridegroom,
01:32which is unique in its own way.
01:38We present the traditional decoration according to the tradition of the President of the Republic of Indonesia,
01:45which is the President of Yogyakarta.
01:46In the decoration, we try to make it as good as possible,
01:52so that it presents the aesthetics without leaving any imperfections.
02:03For the decoration itself, it includes various types of plants,
02:10because for Tuwan, it means plants.
02:14In Tuwan itself, there are banana trees,
02:18then there is legetepe, which is made from coconut leaves.
02:23In it, there is also cengkir gading,
02:26then there are all kinds of plants,
02:29and there is also paddy,
02:31which in unity becomes a symbol or philosophy,
02:36a symbol of prayer for the couple.
02:40What is the origin of the name Raja Tarup?
02:45I have been holding the name Raja Tarup since 2016,
02:51but at the beginning, the name Raja Tarup was formed by my father in 1994,
02:59who used to love Adajawa,
03:03who used to be a farmer,
03:07who was a banana farmer,
03:10but had a dream to preserve the Javanese culture.
03:20We are talking about Tuwan.
03:23For Tuwan, Gagrek Yogyakarta and Gagrek Surakarta are different.
03:30For Gagrek Yogyakarta, the banana does not use the heart,
03:35whereas for Surakarta, the banana should have a heart.
03:42There is also a Sundanese-style Tuwan.
03:48Sundanese-style Tuwan is also different.
03:51Sundanese-style Tuwan is simpler,
03:54does not use black getepe,
03:56but only uses curved leaves.
04:06For the clients who used to come to our place,
04:10from ordinary people to regents or ministers,
04:17and also for the wedding of Mr. Kaesang and Mrs. Erina,
04:22the daughter of the President of the Indonesian Republic, Mr. Jokowi,
04:25it was also taken from our place.
04:27For the last one, yesterday, we at Dawap Agung Pakualam
04:30were given a certificate of trust
04:33to handle some of the ornaments there,
04:37as well as bananas,
04:39to provide Tuwan bananas and Javanese ornaments used for the event.
04:48For myself in Yogyakarta,
04:51I am one of the vendors who are still young,
04:55among the other seniors.
04:57Because even though I am still young,
05:00I still love Javanese culture,
05:03which I am now able to develop
05:08from the business of Raja Tarup itself.
05:12This is also my motto,
05:15besides being a service provider,
05:18but also more into the essence of Javanese culture.
05:22Because for Javanese culture itself,
05:24it has its own customs,
05:27which must be preserved.
05:37For unique experiences related to Javanese traditional ornaments,
05:43for example,
05:45this has also happened a few years ago,
05:50not just once, but several times.
05:53So, for example, in the installation of Tuwhan,
05:56if the Kersau tribe
05:59has installed an ornament
06:03in the location where Tuwhan will be installed,
06:06if we are asked by the Kersau tribe
06:10to move the ornament,
06:12we do not dare to do so.
06:15Because in the past,
06:17maybe it can be believed or not,
06:20when we moved the ornament
06:23that had already been installed there,
06:25because usually in Jogja,
06:28there is a place called Sawan.
06:31Our team has also experienced
06:33having installed and moved
06:35from the ornament that had been installed,
06:38the body became weak and out of breath.
06:42And also,
06:43if we want to take the ornament to the doctor,
06:46it cannot be cured.
06:48It can only be cured
06:50if we ask the animal that has passed through that location
06:53to be fed,
06:55and then give it to the animal that has been infected,
06:58my team,
07:00then it can be cured.
07:02It was a unique experience.
07:06This is one of the installation processes in Odor,
07:11for the Tuwhan setting process,
07:13we use a steel frame,
07:16so that the Tuwhan that we set up later
07:19can be installed safely,
07:21and also,
07:23it is not affected by the wind,
07:26or can be set up without using a pole.
07:32Mas John,
07:34please center it,
07:36so that the center of the Tuwhan can fit.
07:40It can also be strengthened
07:41by the wire there,
07:44so that when there is wind,
07:46the Tuwhan will not shake.
07:52My name is John Abdillah Tovan.
07:56I have been in Raja Tarup for about 7-8 years.
08:01Of course, I am very proud,
08:04because this is an amazing job.
08:07Coincidentally, I am not from here,
08:09I am from Sumatra, Palembang,
08:11so I don't know much about Javanese culture.
08:15What impressed me the most
08:17was when I worked at the place of the President,
08:20the assistant of the President,
08:22Mrs. Irina Senkaesang,
08:24that was very impressive.
08:26At first, there were many difficulties,
08:28but I kept learning,
08:30guided by Mas Wahyu.
08:32Until now,
08:34I can work on Tuwhan,
08:36and also decorate it.
08:38This is the installation of the Tuwhan.
08:43We installed it at night,
08:46because the venue is outdoor,
08:50and also because of the rain.
08:53Everything is set up perfectly,
08:56thanks to the cooperation of the team
08:59from Raja Tarup Dekorasi.
09:07So, for the philosophy of my life,
09:10I love culture,
09:14and I love myself.
09:18So, in my work,
09:22including myself,
09:25is to give with all my heart,
09:28as much as possible,
09:30so that I can be happier
09:32and also be happier
09:34using our services.
09:37Thank you.
