00:00Art is also seduction, as well as beauty.
00:07The Federico II Foundation, now a point of reference in the Sicilian cultural world,
00:12has made a synergy with the Pinacoteca di Breva,
00:15being able to move, after 122 years,
00:18some sculptural masterpieces from Lombardy to Palermo,
00:21in the splendid halls of the Royal Palace.
00:24This great synergy between the Federico II Foundation and the Pinacoteca di Breva,
00:28I would like to thank Angelo Crespi for allowing this to happen.
00:34After 122 years, the works leave the Pinacoteca di Breva
00:38to take root here in Sicily, at the Federico II Foundation,
00:41in our magnificent Royal Palace.
00:43We can admire the two works of Maestro Antonio Canova
00:46and three works of renowned artists of Neoclassicism,
00:49such as Giovanni Pandiani, Pietro Magni and Giovanni Spertini.
00:53There are few sculptures that determine the possibility
01:00of the tourist or even of the citizen
01:04to see again their own cultural heritage,
01:08such as the Palace and the Palatine Chapel,
01:11illuminated by other works of just as much beauty of different eras.
01:17This is often done also with contemporary art.
01:20We are currently doing it with incredible sculptures of Lombard Neoclassicism,
01:26but the main reason is to give light to cultural heritage
01:31through small but important valorizations.
01:35In fact, a 3D reproduction of Antonio Canova's vestal has been made,
01:40dedicated to visitors with visual disabilities.
01:43We have reproduced an opera of Canova's vestal
01:47with a one-to-one scale for the blind and the sighted,
01:52who will be able to appreciate it in a completely different way.
01:57A tangible result, already visible in real apartments,
02:01capable of uniting worlds apparently far away,
02:04with a particular regard for the blind and the sighted.
02:07I do not hide from you that here we are talking about one of the magnificent places
02:12of eternal Roman beauty,
02:16with a strong sense of identity,
02:20and therefore we would like to do something that can be our hospitality,
02:25of cultural goods available in Sicily.
02:30An event of the sign of symbolic value and cultural unity that unites the whole country,
02:36as underlined and sub-secretary to culture Gianmarco Mazzi.
02:40This is a virtuous example of valorization,
02:43which puts in relation two very important institutions,
02:47two very important territories.
02:50These works have not left Milan for more than a hundred years
02:54and they arrive in Sicily and for us of the Ministry it is a reason of great satisfaction.
