00:00The inauguration of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

00:03was not only visited by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

00:06but also by the Philippine Children's Medical Center.

00:09The President also gave assistance

00:11that is worth P150 million.

00:15This is what Bernard Ferrer reported.

00:18President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. visited

00:21the Philippine Children's Medical Center or PCMC

00:24in Quezon City.

00:25This is in accordance with the inauguration of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

00:29to raise awareness on childhood cancer management.

00:33PCMC is close to the heart of the Executive Board

00:36because it was established on the basis of the Presidential Decree No. 1631

00:41issued by his father, former President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

00:45PCMC was allowed by his mother, former First Lady

00:49Imelda R. Marcos, who served as Minister of Human Settlements

00:53until it was fully opened to the public

00:55to provide pediatric health care

00:57on June 23, 1980.

00:59PCMC is also one of the National Centers for Specialized Health Care

01:03under the Department of Health.

01:05That is why today, President R. Marcos Jr.

01:07handed over the check

01:09that is worth P150 million.

01:12He also assured that the government will continue to help

01:16our fellow countrymen

01:18who are in need of quality medical services.

01:20To our little warriors and their families,

01:23you're not alone in this fight.

01:31in doing everything

01:33to help your children

01:35to be healthy

01:37and strong.

01:39He is also building the PCMC Legacy Tower

01:41which has 20 floors

01:43to support the health services

01:45of the growing population of the country.

01:47It has a 500-bed capacity

01:49treasury hospital

01:51to provide pediatric care,

01:53training programs for medical,

01:55nursing, and allied health care providers.

01:57President R. Marcos Jr.

01:59also provided the new

02:01equipment in the Legacy Tower.

02:03The newly installed diagnostic imaging machines,

02:05the three Tesla MRI,

02:07the 128-slice CT scan,

02:09and the dynamic

02:11DER x-ray machine.

02:13They're not just shiny new machines,

02:15new technologies.

02:17They are lifelines.

02:19They allow us to diagnose

02:21more quickly, treat more effectively,

02:23and give every child

02:25a fighting chance.

02:29is also pleased with the doctors and patients

02:31of PCMC in his upcoming

02:33caravan.
