00:00Vice President Kamala Harris has been racking up endorsements from Republicans.
00:04The highest profile recent example is former Vice President Dick Cheney.
00:08He released a statement last week saying,
00:10In our nation's 248-year history, there has never been an individual
00:14who is a greater threat to our republic than Donald Trump.
00:17That is why I will be casting my vote for Vice President Kamala Harris.
00:21Cheney's daughter Liz has also been vocally supportive of Harris.
00:24Jim McCain, son of the late Republican Senator John McCain,
00:27has come out for the Vice President as well.
00:29I feel that Kamala Harris and Tim Walz embody a group of people
00:33that will help make this country better.
00:35Several Republican officials spoke at the Democratic National Convention last month,
00:39including the former Congressman Adam Kinzinger.
00:41Donald Trump has suffocated the soul of the Republican Party.
00:46Also in August, USA Today published a letter endorsing Harris,
00:49signed by over 200 former staff employees of President George W. Bush,
00:53Senator John McCain, and Senator Mitt Romney.
00:56The Harris campaign is even channeling these endorsements into an official initiative,
00:59Republicans for Harris Walz.
01:01But it's hard to say how much of a difference all this could make at the ballot box.
01:05The Hill reports that a recent ABC News Ipsos poll found that 24% of Republicans
01:10say they have a positive view of Harris' campaign,
01:12which could indicate the potential to be won over.
01:14But Politico has also cited ABC News Ipsos to point out that
01:1893% of likely Republican voters prefer Trump.
01:21So at this point, partisan lines may already be too firmly drawn.
