00:00The Philippine government has first dibs on Kibuloy in his entanglements with the law

00:05here at home and in his cases in the United States.

00:09Only after his cases here are heard and adjudicated will extradition to the United States for

00:14his cases there be allowed to proceed.

00:17Our Luisa Erispe has the details.

00:22Kingdom of Jesus Christ leader Pastor Apollo Kibuloy is now under custody of the authorities

00:27but the Department of Justice believes this is just the start to the quest for real justice

00:32to be served.

00:33According to Justice Secretary Jesus Caspin Remulia, they will be coordinating with the

00:38Supreme Court to deny any dilatory tactics by Kibuloy's camp to drag this case longer

00:44than it should.

00:45This, to put a stop to the accused from insisting on the conditions set for his alleged surrender.

00:52My instructions to the prosecution is to prepare all the evidence so we can ask for a continuous

00:58trial so that the case can be closed immediately and we would like the Supreme Court, if that

01:07happens, not to allow for dilatory tactics.

01:11The trial should continue so that it can be closed immediately.

01:14Meanwhile, now that Kibuloy is now under arrest, the DOJ believes the United States may ask

01:20for extradition because he is also facing charges filed against him in court of law

01:25in California, among others.

01:27But the DOJ assured Kibuloy will first face the courts in the country.

01:32He should face the music here, especially that he made it difficult for the police to find him.

01:38We will go through the process properly.

01:42And of course, our priority is the Philippine justice system.

01:47On the cases filed in the Philippines, the DOJ also confirmed one of the complainants,

01:52alias Amanda, sought assistance from the office after receiving harassments from social media.

01:58Remulia said Amanda may be placed in witness protection program.

02:02As a last note, Remulia expressed his appreciation on the efforts of the law enforcement agencies

02:08involved in acquiring custody against Kibuloy.

02:11Remulia acknowledged their dedication and professionalism to their work and in the pursuit.
