00:08about to get underway we got the bombshell out of the star in Dallas

00:14Dak Prescott signing a long-awaited offseason extension on the first day of

00:19the regular season a four-year two hundred and forty million dollar deal

00:24that makes Dak Prescott the highest paid player in the history of the National

00:29Football League 60 million dollars per year Donny right side blowing way past

00:33the previous high of the 55 mil a year of Joe Burrow Trevor Lawrence in earlier

00:40this offseason Jordan love Dak Prescott now the highest paid player in the

00:45history of the NFL let's start here with this number one Dak Prescott is not

00:50overpaid Dak Prescott got we all thought he was going to get resetting the

00:54quarterback market maybe some thought it would be like year later than it was but

00:57it happens before the season so I think anybody surprised by that here's the

01:01issue I have with what came down them when we entered into the offseason

01:04there's two things that we know from the Dallas Cowboys and maybe three if you

01:08can include Michael Parsons on the outside you have three talented players

01:11that needed new contracts Jerry Jones told us been that before the season

01:15started in the offseason we are going all in so I asked this question why did

01:20we wait until basically game week for both CD lamb and Dak Prescott to get

01:24taken care of because if you would have done this back in March your salary cap

01:28numbers for both of those players even they signed monster contracts would have

01:32lowered the team's deal for the offseason which means they would have

01:35more money to spend on the free agent market so I like the fact that that got

01:40a deal he wasn't going anywhere we knew he was going to be a Dallas Cowboy and

01:43get paid a lot of money the same thing for CD lamb but can you imagine if Jerry

01:46Jones was smart enough because honestly we waited a long time what really

01:50changed we knew CD lamb was going to get a ton of money and he did we knew Dak

01:54Prescott was gonna be the highest paid player in the history of the NFL and he

01:58did that if you did it in March Jerry Jones you might have some extra talent

02:01on that roster so you could quote-unquote actually be all-in that was

02:06my only surprise not the numbers yeah or not these two players are paid before

02:09the season why did we wait so long
