Hi, I'm Natalia. I'm 34 years old and I'm not interested in buying my own house.
00:06
I just find renting much more attractive.
00:09
I don't want to buy my own house because renting gives me freedom.
00:13
I left house when I was 19, my family home, and I moved eight times since then.
00:19
I moved to UK seven years ago and it also gave me freedom of choice.
00:25
It's just literally me and what I want to do with my life.
00:28
And yeah, I just find it more attractive.
00:31
I feel that system pushes us to get our own house as soon as we possibly can.
00:38
And it's really difficult, especially for young people, because we don't tend to earn as much in our 20s.
00:45
I also feel like the older generation taught us that house is like the most valued reassurance for the future.
00:54
Renting doesn't hold me back.
00:56
And I think if I was offered a good job opportunities, I could just easily move whenever, you know, you name it.
01:04
I could move to Dubai, I could move to London.
01:06
Not owning a house, just renting will get me further in life as I am so open to opportunities, any occasion that can come along.
01:17
And I think you can rent much more nicer properties than you would be able to afford buying.
01:23
And, you know, I haven't really lived in one place longer than four years.
01:28
Also, if I ever want to go remote, I could like go travel with my husband.
01:34
You know, we could just travel around the world or we could just, you know, rent a van and just drive around Europe or anything like that.
01:42
So, yeah, it just it just gives me so much freedom.
01:45
And, you know, I'm very happy with the life that I have built and I'm happy that I am carefree.
01:51
I don't need to worry about my garden.
01:53
I don't worry about anything that comes with the with the house.
01:58
Well, it's like any renovations and repairs, anything like that.
02:02
So it just gives me a peace of mind.
02:05
And it also gives me freedom of choice.
02:08
Me and my husband, we don't have kids.
02:10
We like to be carefree.
02:12
We don't we're not planning to have kids as well.
02:14
And I think this kind of lifestyle very suit us.
02:17
We rather just follow our dreams, follow our goals.
02:22
And I think owning a house would made us tied to one place and would make us feel trapped.
02:30
But, you know, there are times that I feel like owning a house could be very nice.
02:36
I would love to design the place just how I like it.
02:39
And obviously, you need to compromise also when you're renting.
02:44
But on the other hand, when you buy a house, you also need to compromise
02:48
because you can't afford your dream house in your first try.
02:54
I think obviously there is the ladder, but like you never really know how long is it going to take you to get there.
03:00
And I just think that not owning a house, just renting can make it faster and can make it easier, potentially.
03:09
Not owning a house, just renting got me much further because you can just expand your career.
03:16
And then maybe in my 50s or something, I could maybe decide then and maybe I'll have enough cash to buy a house.
03:25
If you're a young person and you're thinking whether you should rent or buy, try renting
03:31
because you can always check the neighborhood you're renting in.
03:35
You can always see what job opportunities are in the city you want to rent your apartment in.
03:43
And also, even if you're going to be kicked out potentially one day, you always see it as an opportunity to just change, to maybe grow.
03:52
It's just whoever you are and whatever you want in life.
