Megan Thee Stallion accepts the Artist Of The Year award from Billboard’s Editorial Director Hannah Karp at Billboard’sR&B Hip-Hop Power Players 2024.

00:00There's only one woman who has topped the Hot 100 with a rap song this year and I am thrilled to

00:08have her with us tonight. Not only did she kick off 2024 with a bang with that incredible number

00:16one, Hiss, but she debuted at number three on the Billboard 200 in June as an independent artist,

00:25no less. The biggest debut for any rap album released by a woman in 2024.

00:34She also topped Billboard's top R&B hip-hop albums chart for the second time in her career,

00:43becoming the sixth female rapper to do so ever. And on top of it all, as a philanthropist,

00:51an activist, a college graduate, an entrepreneur, and a fitness coach that's keeping us all in

00:59great shape, she is an incredible role model. Not just for everyone in this business but for

01:06our children and for music fans around the world. Please give it up for our Artist of the Year,

01:14Meg Thee Stallion.

01:20I was back there running my mouth.

01:25Okay, first of all, I want to thank God. Yes, period. And then I want to thank my angels,

01:30my mama, my daddy, my granny, because I know they're watching over me and nothing

01:33will be possible without them. I want to thank Billboard for presenting me with this award.

01:39This has truly been a special year from selling out my first ever headlining tour

01:45to dropping my first album as an independent artist.

01:50And so much more. I'm just really proud and really grateful for everybody that has supported

01:53me along the way. A lot of y'all are in this room right now. Yes. I invested so much time,

02:01so much money, and so much effort into making my tour, my album, my music videos, the absolute

02:05best for my hotties. And it's just really exciting to watch the work pay off. It's also rewarding

02:11because I really stayed true to myself and my happiness. I did exactly what the fuck I wanted

02:15to do, and now I'm getting awards for it. At the end of the day, I just love to rap,

02:21and I want to keep rapping and evolving as an artist and delivering great music

02:25for my hotties for as long as possible. Once again, thank you to Billboard,

02:29and this is an incredible honor. Congratulations to all the honorees.
