00:00If we go to the West Coast here, I thought it was interesting yesterday.

00:05The San Diego Padres, obviously one of the better teams in baseball and ultra-talented.

00:09Hugh Darvish returns back to the mound.

00:11And I was saying to myself, Greg, what happens if Hugh Darvish gets back to what he has been

00:14doing over, let's just say, the past decade, and what boost that could be for the San Diego

00:18Padres?

00:19Not the case, though, in that first game back.

00:21Two and two-thirds innings pitched, four hits, three earned runs, four strikeouts, and a

00:25home run given up in this game.

00:27What did we see out of Hugh Darvish and also Craig?

00:29What are the expectations for us for Hugh Darvish in the month of September?

00:32Well, I mean, Musgrove pitched very well his last time out, Donnie.

00:35I think that's more important than Hugh Darvish.

00:38I mean, Hugh Darvish has been gone a while.

00:40I believe he's on the restricted list.

00:41Didn't see a lot of reporting on that either, so I'm not really sure exactly what's going

00:46on there.

00:47And so I'm not surprised to see these initial results.

00:49He's had really good regular season success.

00:52I'm not sure about his postseason success.

00:55So look, I think they would like to get him going.

00:58If I'm sort of predicting, Donnie, what would happen in a three-game wildcard series, maybe

01:03he'd pitch game three.

01:04I don't think he'd pitch game one or game two.

01:06He could be their third or fourth starter in a seven-game series.

01:09So the Padres will hope, but I think we've got to call it what it is at this point.

01:13They've gotten this far kind of without him.

01:16So they're just hoping that they could get anything, I think, to get him into the postseason

01:19and pitching well.

01:20I wouldn't say that he's a candidate to not be on the postseason roster just yet, but

01:25he's going to have to pitch well the last month to be on it.
