00:07Mother Teresa, was officially canonized, becoming Saint Teresa of Calcutta.

00:12The canonization was carried out by Pope Francis in front of thousands of people in San Pedro

00:17Square in Vatican City, two decades after her death on September 5th, 1997.

00:23During his homily day, that day the Holy Father described the Catholic nun as a generous dispenser

00:29of divine mercy, making herself available for everyone through her welcome and defense

00:35of human life.

00:36Teresa founded the Missionaries of Charity, a religious congregation serving the poorest

00:42of the poor, which grew to operate in over 133 countries.

00:46She received several honors, including the 1979 Nobel Peace Prize.
