00:00Thank you Madam Deputy Speaker and I welcome the strong leadership this

00:04government and the Home Secretary has taken. Even though Peterborough avoided

00:08the right-wing thuggery that many places saw earlier this summer, despite the best

00:13efforts of online misinformation and rumours, the events of the summer cast a

00:17long shadow onto communities and constituencies like mine. And I'd really

00:22like to put on record my thanks to Peterborough's Joint Moss Council, Community

00:26First, Peterborough Community User Group, Unity Group, as well as the police and council

00:30officers who worked around the clock to keep businesses and communities safe. Can

00:35the Home Secretary give confidence and comfort to communities like mine that we

00:39will continue to tackle in the weeks and months ahead. Extremism and anti-

00:44Islamophobia and anti-Muslim hatred, which isn't just about this summer, has

00:49been rising over the recent years and is part of the source we need to tackle in

00:53this issue.
