00:00Yes, it's a good result. It's always the most important thing in the result, a clean sheet.
00:04I thought we defended well, I thought we defended what we knew they would throw at us.
00:09I thought the first half on the ball were appalling, which is as bad as I've seen us.
00:13And then we had to improve the second half. The players knew that, and a lot of the stuff
00:17I did say to them at half-time and at the end of the game, we'll stay in-house.
00:21Well, it was nowhere near a good enough performance, but we managed to scrape out a 1-0 win.
00:27I'm disappointed with a whole good performance.
00:30I'm not going to stand here, and other people might come on and say, yeah, you know, 1-0.
00:35And of course, the result's the most important thing for everyone.
00:39But that doesn't camouflage the performance, and I'm scratching my head with that one.
00:43As sometimes you do as a manager, but at the end of the day, the stuff we're doing, the work on the
00:49training ground and the preparation, and we've had a good bit of time for it, I didn't see it.
00:55I don't know why I'm scratching my head, I'm asking the players why, and whether it's
00:58they're a lot lower in confidence than I thought they were.
01:01But it's something I've got to get to the bottom of.
01:04But I'm going to be absolutely brutally honest here, I'm not watching that.
01:09I'm not watching that.
01:10The only way there wouldn't have been any more intensity is if they just stayed in the dressing room.
01:15This is, we're fighting for our lives here.
01:18And yeah, we did put fighting, I'm not saying they didn't fight, and I'm not saying that,
01:22for me, I've got to get, I can't, I've got to see more than what I'm seeing.
01:26Of course it's my responsibility and all the rest of it, but
01:31one thing I'm not going to be doing is wasting my time.
01:34I don't need to, but the players are not stupid.
01:37Well, I don't think they are, they're not.
01:39They know that that performance will land us in trouble if we do that every week.
01:42Look, we've had much better performances like that, probably Huddersfield's a good example,
01:46where we played much better, how I want us to play, and we lost.
01:51So, I suppose at the moment if you have to play rubbish and win, I think that is the most important
01:55thing, but for me, I need a bit more than that, you know, and of course the most important thing
02:00is a win, and it's not about how you look on the eye and all the rest of it, but I felt the atmosphere
02:06was getting a little bit toxic, and I think it would have got really ugly if it had gone behind.
02:12Yeah, I mean, I'm not, I always feel that, correct me if I'm wrong, I always feel that I'm honest,
02:20and I don't think I can come on here and kid anyone by saying, oh, I was fantastic.
02:24No, I wasn't, but that's me, my standards are high, and what I'm saying is,
02:30if that takes that sort of win to get our confidence and get us built, going again,
02:34then maybe it does, I don't know. I just, I just didn't enjoy it, man. I enjoyed the win.
