00:00A larger screen, major camera upgrades,
00:02and lots and lots of AI.
00:04Yes, the regular iPhone 16 will be here before you know it,
00:07but I'm more excited for the iPhone 16 Pro
00:09and iPhone 16 Pro Max.
00:11Let's get into the biggest rumors right now.
00:14The first rumor we've been following
00:15about the iPhone 16 Pro is the display size,
00:18and it looks like we're going to get
00:19the biggest iPhone display ever.
00:22As a reminder, the iPhone Pro Max series
00:24has had a 6.7 inch display size
00:27since the iPhone 12 Pro Max was introduced back in 2020.
00:30Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts that the new Pro Max
00:33will feature a 6.9 inch display.
00:36That would mean the iPhone's display would be even bigger
00:38than the 6.8 inch one on the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
00:42The regular iPhone 16 Pro is also tipped
00:44for a screen size increase,
00:46growing from 6.1 to 6.3 inches.
00:49That's not all in terms of design.
00:50The iPhone 16 Pro series could get a new control button
00:53on the right side of the phone
00:54below where the lock button currently sits.
00:56This button will apparently be separate
00:58from the action button that debuted on the iPhone 15 Pro,
01:01featuring a solid state capacitive design
01:04with haptic feedback.
01:05A leaker on Weibo is calling this the capture button
01:08and says that it'll likely be used
01:09to control the iPhone 16 Pro's camera,
01:11perhaps even acting as a focusing toggle.
01:14We're assuming that this capture button
01:15will be used to launch the camera and take photos quickly,
01:18but its force sensor functionality
01:20could open up other possibilities.
01:22For example, maybe you'll be able to make
01:24a more forceful press to start recording video.
01:27Speaking of the cameras, the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max
01:30are rumored to get some big upgrades.
01:32Apple needs a good encore
01:34for the Tetra Prism 5X optical zoom lens
01:36and the iPhone 15 Pro Max, after all.
01:38For starters, the regular iPhone 16 Pro
01:41is tipped for the same zoom upgrade,
01:42which would be a welcome boost.
01:44And both models are tipped
01:45to get a sharper 48 megapixel ultra wide camera,
01:49up from 12 megapixels on previous models.
01:51Plus, the main 48 megapixel sensor
01:53is tipped to have a larger lens that lets in more light,
01:56though this could be a Pro Max exclusive.
01:59If there's one thing we do know
02:00about the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max,
02:02it's that the phones will pack the A18 Pro chip.
02:05The A17 Pro was powerful,
02:07but Apple will need to speed things up with this new chip
02:09if it wants the iPhone 16 Pro Max
02:11to be the fastest phone around.
02:13If leaked Geekbench scores are a guide,
02:15the A18 Pro could reach a single-core result
02:17of over 3,500 and a multi-core score of over 9,300.
02:21That said, I'm more interested
02:23in the machine learning performance
02:24of the A18 Pro's neural engine.
02:27That neural engine is set to help the new iPhones
02:29with generative AI tasks.
02:31Apple is apparently investing heavily
02:33in multiple generative AI tools for the iPhone,
02:35including automating tasks
02:37that would normally take multiple steps using your voice,
02:40as well as a new version of Siri
02:41based on Apple's large language models.
02:44Apple is said to be boosting many of its own apps with AI, too,
02:47including Notes, Photos, and more.
02:50if Apple didn't finally introduce features
02:52such as removing objects from images
02:54or filling in backgrounds in pictures.
02:56Apple is also said to be in conversations with Google
02:59to potentially license its Gemini product for generative AI,
03:02but that feels like cheating.
03:04The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max
03:06are expected to arrive this September,
03:08and we'll be tracking all the latest rumors
03:09leading up to the big reveal.
