00:05The Labour government is reportedly looking into a ban on smoking

00:08in pub gardens, outdoor restaurants and even outside clubs.

00:12This is part of their plan for tougher measures against tobacco and vapes.

00:16The leaked proposal shows rules would also apply to outside universities,

00:20hospitals, sports grounds, kids play areas and small parks.

00:24However, large parks, streets and private homes are currently safe from the restrictions.

00:29The move was introduced by the last Conservative government,

00:31but was paused in the lead-up to the election.

00:34And Labour's plans for tougher measures on smoking

00:36were sneakily not mentioned in the King's speech six weeks ago.

00:40But ministers and officials are rumoured to have been working to harden proposals

00:43after fearing too many Brits suffered from breathing in second-hand smoke.

00:47So how do the people themselves feel about this change?

00:54Like, smoking is what brings people together.

00:58You can sit and when you have a cig with someone, you chat about your life story.
