Gold is the target for Australia's para-archers.
00:08
Spearheading Australia's largest para-archery team in 40 years, Rio 2016 bronze medallist
00:14
Jonathan Milne will be competing at his third Para Games, alongside rising star Patrick
00:19
French who is set to make his debut after picking up the sport just two years ago.
00:24
I brought a bow just to muck around with in the backyard and naively looked up all the
00:31
records and thought I could do that.
00:35
The duo is doing all they can to simulate the conditions they'll face at the Games,
00:39
taking part in mock competition and bringing in spectators to emulate crowd noise.
00:45
No stranger to the rigours of Olympic competition, Milne is not letting the magnitude of the
00:49
occasion get to him.
00:50

00:54
same distance, same competitors, so I know if I go out there and do what I need to do,
01:00
it's generally enough to get the win.
01:02
Australia has won three gold medals in archery at the Paralympics, one in 1960 and two in
01:07
1968.
01:08
Milne's bronze in 2016 remains Australia's only podium in four decades.
01:13
I've tried to leave no stone unturned and try to prepare the guys as much as possible
01:19
but there comes a time in which you just need to go out there and perform, so I think we're
01:23
at that point right now.
