The first couple of weeks was new. Spent a bit of time trying to adjust, obviously not
00:07
being on a pitch every day which is, you know, over the last seven years what I've been used
00:13
to. But I've got to be honest, the last month, the last three weeks, the more you're looking
00:19
at the squad, the more you're watching games, getting your stuff together as well has been,
00:25
I've loved, I've really loved the last few weeks.
00:28
This is Craig Bellamy's first time in charge of a football side and he says that there's
00:32
one element he didn't think about, injuries. He says he now has to watch every game his
00:38
players play with his fingers crossed, hoping there aren't any players picking up anything
00:42
that can keep them sidelined.
00:44
Every weekend you have fingers crossed, which is really rare, but it's, I could be talking
00:52
about a different squad coming next weekend, it's that, it is that. So you're always like,
00:58
you know, we have a lot of people watching a lot of games, I'm watching a game every
01:03
weekend as well and then we have a conversation after it and honestly the first words are
01:08
anyone pick up anything, everyone's fine.
01:11
Bellamy was always known as a brash, in-your-face type player on the pitch, but during his time
01:16
on the sideline he's clearly taken his own style of management and hopes that his tactics
01:21
shine through, saying there is a lot of emphasis on his players fully understanding their jobs
01:26
on the pitch.
01:27
Do I want to win every game? Of course I do. But over this six-game period of this nation
01:32
league, I want it to become so clear for the six games. Now, in order to do that there's
01:38
going to be a lot of meetings because are we going to be the best physically or, I'm
01:45
not sure. But tactically and the knowledge of what our players are going to be able to
01:50
take on board, I believe that's what's going to give us an advantage. Where we can adapt
01:55
in games, we don't lose 45 minutes, we don't lose 90 minutes because we can change, we
01:58
can adapt.
