00:00Dr. Mahathir Mohamad accused Prime Minister Zaid Hamidi of lying when he used the name Kuti to refer to him.
00:10Mahathir told the High Court of Kuala Lumpur that he did not have a identification card with the name ever issued to him.
00:17He also said that the name never appeared anywhere until Zahid claimed that he had an old blue IC card with the name Mahathir Anak Iskandar Kuti.
00:28The first hearing today was originally scheduled for 13 February.
00:33It was postponed after Mahathir was admitted to the National Heart Institute and was found unwell to attend the proceedings.
00:41Mahathir convinced Zahid to file a lawsuit against him for using the name Kuti, which according to the former Prime Minister, was intended as a reference to insult him.
00:49In his statement, Mahathir accused Zahid of slandering him for using the name Kuti during the UMNO session in Selangor on 30 July 2017.
