00:00A major spoiler for All In, Ronda Rousey apologises.
00:04And ahead of his All In match this weekend, we'll have our final segment with special
00:08American Correspondent MJF.
00:11I'm Oli Davis, and this is the WrestleTalk News.
00:22Happy All In Eve Eve, everyone!
00:26AEW's biggest show of the year is but two sleeps away, but the wrestling actually begins
00:31tonight.
00:32With us all in the WrestleTalk office going to the Riott Cabaret show this evening.
00:36And the event will be graced by a big star from last year's All In… pre-show, Grado.
00:43Grado was asked by Riott Cabaret to send in an up-to-date promotional image for his match
00:47graphic against Sha Samuels, to which the Scotsman replied, ne'er bother, pal.
00:52And this professionally shot, well-lit, high-res picture.
00:55I am deathly serious about this.
00:57Tony Khan should book Grado as a surprise entrant for Sunday's Casino Gauntlet match,
01:02and pay for the rights to use Madonna's like a prayer for his entrance.
01:06With the song being pretty hot right now after being used in the Deadpool and Wolverine movie,
01:09a clip of all of Wembley Stadium singing it could be a great viral clip for AEW.
01:14But there's a far more likely surprise for the match in store.
01:19After months of speculation, Fightful Select is reporting former WWE star Ricochet has
01:23now signed a multi-year contract with AEW, and there might be plans to debut him as soon
01:30as All In this Sunday.
01:32This follows Ricochet being written off of WWE Raw back on the 10th June, and his contract
01:37expiring several weeks later on the 1st July, meaning Ricochet has been a free agent for
01:42almost two months.
01:43As he used that name on the indies before signing with WWE, he'll be able to wrestle
01:48under Ricochet in AEW too.
01:51There was some speculation that Ricochet could join AEW as part of a new Hurt Business faction,
01:57made up of original members Bobby Lashley and MVP, whose WWE contracts also recently
02:02expired, and Shelton Benjamin, who was released late last year.
02:06Cedric Alexander remains under contract with WWE, but MVP have previously said he also
02:11wanted Ricochet to be part of the original group.
02:13MVP is thought to have trademarked the name The Hurt Syndicate last week, and now Lashley
02:18has told the radio show Bo and Them, wrestling, I still want to wrestle, I love wrestling.
02:25Oh, but All In isn't just for wrestling promotions, it's for wrestling YouTube channels
02:30too.
02:31As later today, on this very channel, Luke and I will be joined on our All In predictions
02:37livestream in person by Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez.
02:45Subscribe and enable notifications to know when that goes live.
02:48Now if we can just have this year's All In without any backstage drums-OH GOD DAMMIT
02:52DISCO INFERNO.
02:54Disco Inferno has claimed on his podcast that, despite Buddy Murphy choosing to re-sign with
02:58AEW, he's heard from his sources that the House of Black are a pain in the ass to deal
03:03with backstage, they're constantly turning down creative.
03:07Which led to House of Black member Brodie King issuing a statement in reply.
03:11Hey Disco Inferno, go f*** yourself.
03:14Disco's own co-host Conan even actually pushed back on rumours that the House of Black
03:18is hard to deal with, and instead said they're like everybody else on that roster that's
03:23wondering why AEW doesn't do more with me.
03:26And that some talent think, I don't even ask questions, I don't care anymore, just
03:30pay me.
03:31Of course, do take everything Conan and Inferno with a pinch of salt right into an open wound.
03:36But currently contracted AEW wrestler Ricky Starks described such a situation not too
03:40long ago to WhatCulture, where he didn't know why he wasn't getting booked.
03:44Amidst rumours that Starks will be going to NXT when his contract expires, Khan was asked
03:49about Starks' AEW status on the All In media call, where he gave a typically evasive answer.
03:54Ricky's been a great star in AEW, he's been a champion here, and he's had great
03:59matches here.
04:00I think very highly of Ricky.
04:02He's somebody that has been here for several years, and he's under contract in AEW.
04:07He's a well-regarded wrestler here in AEW.
04:11There was a report that Starks turned down a creative pitch earlier this year, where
04:14his tag team partner Big Bill would turn on him, making Ricky a babyface.
04:18If you're Mariah May, if you don't like what AEW instructs you to do, you can just
04:23seemingly do it anyway.
04:24Speaking on the Wrestling with Freddie podcast, May spoke about the backstage reaction to
04:29the first time her and Mina Shirikawa kissed on AEW TV.
04:33It was not pitched, we just did it.
04:36Mina and I are extremely close.
04:37We've always been very close in stardom.
04:40We just did it.
04:41The next time around, they were like, hey, can you guys stop kissing?
04:45May argued that's based on an archaic view.
04:47It was her idea, and it's her choice who she kisses.
04:50And if you've watched AEW since that first kiss, May has done a three-way kiss with Mina
04:54and Tony Storm, and Storm kissed both Harley Cameron and Suraya on this week's very Dynamite.
04:59Ronda Rousey conducted a Reddit AMA earlier this week, where she called Vince McMahon
05:03an 80-year-old asshole and said he can suck a d***.
05:07But as is Reddit's way, she was also trolled about her once sharing a video claiming the
05:12Sandy Hook school shooting was staged.
05:15Now, 11 years after sharing that video, Ronda has posted an apology statement.
05:20I can't say how many times I've redrafted this apology over the last 11 years, how many
05:25times I've convinced myself it wasn't the right time, or that I'd be causing even
05:29more damage by giving it.
05:31But 11 years ago, I made the single most regrettable decision of my life.
05:36I watched the Sandy Hook conspiracy video and reposted it on Twitter.
05:39I didn't even believe it, but was so horrified at the truth that I was grasping for an alternative
05:44fiction to cling to instead.
05:46I quickly realised my mistake and took it down, but the damage was done.
05:50By some miracle, it seemingly slipped under the media's radar.
05:53I was never asked about it, so I never spoke of it again, afraid that calling attention
05:57to it would have the opposite of the intended effect.
06:00It could increase the views of those conspiracy videos and, selfishly, inform even more people
06:06I was ignorant, self-absorbed and tone deaf enough to share one in the first place."
06:12Ronda wrote how she drafted an apology for her last memoir, Our Fight, but her publisher
06:16begged her to take it out as it would just reopen old wounds.
06:20She said,
06:21I deserve to be hated, labelled, detested, resented, and worse for it.
06:25I deserve to lose out on every opportunity.
06:28I should have been cancelled.
06:30I would have deserved it.
06:31I still do.
06:32I apologise that this came 11 years too late, but to those affected by the Sandy Hook massacre,
06:38from the bottom of my heart and depth of my soul, I am so, so sorry for the hurt I caused.
06:45Back to AEW news, while it's not the 81,035 paid from last year, this Sunday's All In
06:51has passed an important milestone, with WrestleTix reporting the show has distributed over 50,000
06:56tickets.
06:57It's important to note that distributed is different to sold, as the distributed number
07:02includes complimentary tickets.
07:03The stadium is currently set up for 53,832, meaning AEW need to shift just under 4,000
07:11tickets in the next few days to consider this a sellout.
07:13A near 40% show-to-show drop was probably a factor in AEW choosing to run All In from
07:19Texas next year, rather than London for a third year in a row.
07:23But the promotion aren't just going down south.
07:25They might also be going down under.
07:28Tony Khan confirmed reports during the All In media call that AEW is looking at locations
07:33in Australia to run an event there in 2025.
07:36Can't hope that year will be another milestone year for the company.
07:40The All In go-home episode of Dynamite was pretty consistent with last week's viewership,
07:44drawing 698,000 viewers and a .24 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
07:49It's practically the same as the previous week, which had 5,000 more viewers, but a
07:53.23 rating.
07:54Which I guess means it's time to check in for the last time while he's in England
08:25I've put up with this for like 10 days now, and you still haven't apologised for ruining
08:31my beer at the Rev Pro show.
08:36I think that's quite rude.
08:55Yeah.
08:56Are you thirsty right now, actually?
08:57Now you mention it.
08:58I'm quite thirsty, yeah.
08:59Do you want me to get you some water?
09:00Oh, I'd love that, actually.
09:01Really?
09:02Yeah, yeah.
09:03You know what?
09:04Let me get you a water.
09:05By the way, I'm also so sorry about the spit in the hand thing.
09:07That was really rude.
09:08Wow.
09:09As long as I get that water, I'm fine.
09:10One for good measure.
09:11Little handshake there.
09:12Let me go get you that water.
09:13Nice guy.
09:14Hello.
09:15Now, I'm curious.
09:19Are you still thirsty?
09:21Or what?
09:22Um.
09:23Oh, did I ruin your mic?
09:26Oh, I just want to make sure I don't get any more on the ... Oh, no.
09:31Oh, that is so sad.
09:34Well, anyway, I've distorted the microphone.
09:37I've gotten Ollie wet, which is something he's never been able to do to a woman.
09:41You can watch me on August 25th, all in, Wembley Stadium.
09:45You're welcome.
09:51We are on the lookout for the worst match ever, and by its very definition, the best
09:56worst match ever.
09:58It's got a real mid-2000s vibe to it, hasn't it?
10:01Oh, for sure.
10:02For sure.
10:03You mean being in the impact zone?
10:04And here's the star of the show.
10:06Masquerita Dorada.
10:07Yep.
10:08Future El Torito.
10:09Oh my God.
10:10That's absolutely clobbered in.
10:11What's going on here?
10:12I don't remember this bit.
10:14What's going on here?
10:15Tony Hawk's a ring store.
10:16Why is there a painting going on?
10:17Why is somebody just witnessing the painting?
10:20Oh!
10:21What the fuck?
10:22What the hell was that?
10:23He needs a throw in.
10:24Oh, wait.
10:25It's Rebbi Sky.
10:26Why was the painting never explained?
10:28The winner didn't see the painting.
10:31What was he painting?
