00:38favored now I think Skenes a month ago around the all-star game Joe what was he

00:43like minus 1,500 he was right I mean he was a huge favorite I got him in that

00:48ticket Skenes rookie judge MVP school bulls I young and I feel like Joe I'm

00:54losing my grasp on that by the day as this this Merrill needs to cool off a

00:59little bit and Skenes needs to get me a couple good outings this Merrill is

01:04drafting like cold trickle back in the day it was just Ryan he was he was what

01:08was it back drafting he could back draft into position it was just allowing

01:14Skenes to punch himself out that's the problem when you bet these markets and

01:19you have such a dominating first half right all-star performance and then it's

01:25like okay how do you duplicate that in regards to any of the second half right

01:29any type of regression and the books all of a sudden readjust and that opens the

01:34door sometimes for a player like Jackson Merrill especially with the fact now

01:39that San Diego's what two and a half three and a half back of the Dodgers

01:43well Ryan and I and I think Joe that that's something that plays into it and

01:47sometimes you look at those boards right you look at those markets you look

01:50at those numbers and they're so so prevalent on what's right now right like

01:57when you look at a month ago and Skenes is starting the all-star game as a

02:02rookie you know the Pirates were actually playing pretty well they were

02:06in the mix you know game out of the wild card doing well Merrill was playing okay

02:11but then you go the next month Padres red hot Merrill hitting game tying

02:16homers in the ninth making huge catches doing it he's the guy in everyone's

02:21mind right now so that's why suddenly things start to change and I think it'll

02:26change again it could change again Joe over these last six weeks at least I

02:29hope it does but the Pirates are now going to be playing aside from the games

02:35that Skenes pitches really insignificant meaningless baseball now over the last

02:40six weeks and the same eyeballs aren't going to be there and they might limit

02:44how much he's going to pitch too they might say five innings that's it
