00:00Don't be too quick to go along with a password reset request on your iPhone,
00:03even if you get a bunch in a row.
00:05That's the MO of a new scam attacking Apple device users.
00:08Krebs on Security reports that some iPhone owners have been receiving
00:11dozens of fraudulent Apple ID password reset requests.
00:14It's a technique known as MFA bombing.
00:16MFA stands for multi-factor authentication.
00:19And if the scam's targets dismiss the request,
00:21some even receive a phone call that shows up as coming from Apple support.
00:24Krebs says that if you get such a call and aren't sure it's real,
00:27you should hang up and contact the company directly yourself.
00:30The website 9to5Mac suggests that temporarily changing your Apple ID phone number
00:34may stop the requests.
00:35According to Business Insider, Apple says they're working on the problem
00:38and that it affects a small number of iPhone users.
