00:00Hi Sadlers fans, I was at Essenton earlier today where I spoke to Matt Sadler, head of

00:04Walsall's first away trip of the season against Windham Town on Saturday. And it feels very

00:09much like Groundhog Day at the moment in terms of talk around the striker situation, which

00:14has been somewhat placated by two positive results to start the season. A 1-0 win over

00:19Morecambe in their League Two opener at Besscott on Saturday, followed by a shootout success

00:24in the EFL Cup against League One outfit Exeter City following very late drama. Unfortunately,

00:33in terms of that hunt for a new centre forward, the situation is very much as it stood, no

00:40deal over the line at the moment. Sadler was asked whether there would be a situation where

00:47Walsall would end deadline day without a new centre forward and he says he can't foresee

00:52any such scenario. I then asked, hypothetically, if that was to be the case and Walsall didn't

01:00have those centre forwards through the door, what would be his alternative plan? And he

01:04said he didn't want to think hypothetically, his full focus is on what he has at his disposal

01:10at the moment. And of course, the task at hand, which is bolstering that attacking line.

01:16So that was really the talk on the striker front. In terms of team news, Jamie Jellis

01:24missed training today due to illness. There's been an illness that went through the camp.

01:28That's why Jimmy O'Mac came off at half time against Morecambe. But Sadler is optimistic

01:33that he will be available. Elsewhere, Donovan Daniels had his operation on his knee injury

01:41today. He's poised for at least another six weeks on the sidelines. Brandon Connolly's

01:46away in x-ray results. In terms of that initial assessment of timeframe, sorry, of six to

01:53seven weeks, that at least means he has another fortnight on the sidelines. And Danny Johnson

01:59is still in light training, no timeframe still given on that. He's working hard to try and

02:04be part of the group at the moment.
