Introducing Sheepfolds Stables in Sunderland

00:00Everything that we're trying to do is obviously encompass of Sunderland and trying to connect with the local community.

00:06We've got lots of great ideas going into Christmas.

00:09We haven't quite finalised them at the moment but things are looking really positive and we're really excited about it.

00:16Sheepfold Stables opened its doors to the public on August 2nd.

00:20Following its atmospheric opening, the venue saw 23,000 pints sold within 12 days.

00:26Some of the food and drink vendors which operate at the stables include Pizzeria Ice Cream for Pizza,

00:32Mother Mercy Cocktail Bar and Asian-inspired restaurant Ember.

00:36So what we looked at initially was just to allow the doors to open and encourage as many people from all different backgrounds

00:44to come down and experience what the Sheepfolds have to offer.

00:48We've put in a stacked entertainment schedule so that there's always something on the screen.

00:54With regards to families, that's something that we're going to look at, some sort of weekend, early morning offering

01:00because we do want to encourage families to come down.

01:03From fine dining to speciality coffee, the stables also offers the space-snug Whiskey Lounge and the Southpaw Dance Studio

01:11all in amongst the historic cobbled grounds.

01:14Originally constructed in 1883, modern finesse meets rustic charm at the venue.

01:21Yeah, the atmosphere is booming with nice weather, match days is a lot to offer with the brewery,

01:28all the places to eat, it's busy, it's nice, it's a good atmosphere.

01:34Look at the Sheepfolds, you know, we've got 140 years worth of restored history there.

01:39It's a really beautiful site that kind of lends itself to, you know, the years gone by.

01:46But yeah, everything that we're looking to do is, as I've touched on before,

01:50is about connecting the local community and the people of Sunderland

01:54and all the decisions that we make, that's something that we put at the forefront.
