PAGASA sees slim chance of cyclone forming until weekend

00:07We are live from the Pag-asa Weather Forecasting Center.

00:11In our latest satellite images, we do not have a typhoon that is being monitored inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

00:17Although we have a typhoon outside, this is the Severe Tropical Storm Amphil,

00:22which is almost 2,000 kilometers east-northeast, extreme northern Luzon.

00:26The name Amphil comes from Sampaloc, a province in Cambodia.

00:31It is not directly affected by our country.

00:33It does not produce strong winds.

00:35The Severe Tropical Storm Amphil is heading towards the northern part of Japan.

00:41Amphil is an international name.

00:43As of now, the Southwest Monsoon is particularly affected by the northern and central Luzon.

00:51It will bring cloudy skies with a higher chance of rain.

00:55Particularly in the Ilocos Region and the Batanes and Babuyan Islands.

01:02We expect that the Southwest Monsoon will still be affected by the next few days until Friday,
