00:00So we're here just on the outskirts of Echo Shoreland. Theresa, this is your magical garden.
00:04It is, it is.
00:05This table's straight out of an Alice in Wonderland set this is, I'm loving it.
00:10Yeah, I got the idea from Tatton Park when I went to the flower show there.
00:13Yeah. How long you been here and had this garden then, Theresa?
00:16Well, we came in 2000 and it was very bare, just lawn and laurel and conifer.
00:21Now it's a very much different story and I love it. I get up every morning, I'm here all day.
00:28So did it happen by accident or did you come and you saw this blank canvas and you thought,
00:32right, I know what I want to do, did you know?
00:34It evolved over many years, bearing in mind three children growing up and
00:38so it's only when they really left home I was able to go to task on it and do it as I wanted it.
00:43Well, you're opening it, you're throwing the doors open to the grand public this weekend,
00:46Saturday and Sunday.
00:47We are.
00:48And fingers crossed a bit of decent weather.
00:51Yeah, it's given some very good weather.
00:53Yeah, yeah.
00:53Some cake, some teas.
00:55Fantastic. So if you had to describe your garden, kind of a bit of a summary,
00:59how would you describe it to someone?
01:00Okay, I would say that it's, there's a little bit of something for everyone.
01:04It's tidy in places, wildlife, there's a lovely meadow out there we've just had cut for hay.
01:10There's hens and chickens.
01:13It's a peaceful, calm garden.
01:16Yeah, peaceful and calm. Yeah, I'd agree with that.
01:19And there's a little section we'll show up on the video where you've got kind of,
01:23you've created a little wildflower garden, but it's kind of like a Transformers garden.
01:26You've got your wildflower and once that's gone, underneath there hiding away,
01:30some shaped box hedge and clipped bulbs.
01:32But yes, it's a formal box garden with clouds and balls.
01:37But all over the summer, it's full of wildflowers.
01:39It's just going over now, but it's a bonus because it's full of sparrows.
01:44Ah, great. So you're keeping it for the wildlife for a bit.
01:46Yeah, they have the seeds off of them.
01:48And in the winter, it's a really nice box garden.
01:52Any particular favourite spots for yourself?
01:54I know you barely probably get a chance to sit down and have a brew.
01:57Okay, my favourite spot, I'll be honest, I've got two greenhouses in the Hen Run,
02:02which people are more than welcome to go and have a look at when they come.
02:06That's my favourite place.
02:07In the greenhouse?
02:08Yeah, down in the greenhouse.
02:10Okay. Well, we wish you all the best with this weekend's opening
02:14and thank you for inviting us to your magical, wonderful garden.
02:18Thank you, Theresa.
02:18Thank you, Steve.
