00:00We are rolling out ratios across NSW hospitals.

00:05Today we announced an additional 12 sites,

00:09taking the total to date over the first 15 months

00:12to 16 hospitals that will be moving or have moved

00:16to 1 to 3 in emergency departments.

00:19That makes an enormous difference.

00:22This is the largest single reform of the way in which we staff our hospitals in NSW.

00:28It will see an additional 2,500 nurses and midwives

00:32come into the system over the next few years.

00:35We are going to back the men and women who resource and staff our hospitals

00:39because we know when we back them we deliver better healthcare for our communities,

00:44we deliver safer healthcare for our communities

00:47and we help to attract and retain nurses and midwives

00:50as well as other allied healthcare workers to our profession.

00:54And that is the focus.
