00:00How does Section 31 sort of stand apart in the vast galaxy of Star Trek?

00:07Maybe we can use that word.

00:11I feel like typically Star Trek, and like anytime you're on a ship, there's protocols, you know what I mean?

00:17It's naval, you know?

00:20So, you know what I mean?

00:22But Section 31 exists outside of that construct.

00:27So it's very ragtag, very loose, very sort of just get the thing done however they need to get it done,

00:34which is a very different take on the Star Trek world.

00:43But ironically, to Sam's point, and I imagine that Tundi and Alex,

00:50one of the things they wanted us most to pull off was,

00:53but there is a necessity to remain of some level of formality.

01:01Yeah, Casey's point is they inserted me, Omari.

01:07So as she policed this rogue version of policing agent and agency,

01:12particularly with Sam's character because, and it was so well written, I don't know who wrote this.

01:18It might have been, maybe Alex wrote this.

01:21No, Craig Sweeney.

01:22No, but I mean this specific part I'm about to refer to.

01:25When I say I found Sam's character, I just simply say I found Sam's character,

01:32and I allude to why he's so great at what he does.

01:35But in reality, as much as we can be rogue, to Sam's point,

01:39as much as we can be like loosey-goosey just trying to figure it out,

01:42but still while maintaining the structure of the galaxies, all the galaxies, plural,

01:48the reality is I find Section 31 to stand out most because there's still that marriage,

01:53the hybrid of sorts of the formality that we grew up watching,

01:56and yet they still have this dirty sort of edgy take on it.

01:59And then a sense of humor is allowed.

02:01So that was just amazing for us, in particular before we really got going.

02:07There were scenes that we shot, and I thought it was a great job.

02:10I guess Tooney wanted it shot this way, where we got to love and know each other sort of early.

02:16And it was a scene that was nothing but fun.

02:19Everybody got to show the individuality of their characters.

02:22In all of the Star Trek iterations, worlds, inclusive in this family,

02:28if that's the word Alex wants to use, there is a formality and a structure that is not boring,

02:34but it absolutely is of mechanical, structured nature.

02:39We're a bit different.

02:41We're kind of really going there, but yet we still, at the same time, have to be a bit structured.

02:46So I found, as a Loxahar, that was interesting for me to figure that out in the beginning.

02:50Am I super structured? Can I be funny?

02:53So I really went to Tooney and said, Bro, you got to beat me up.

02:56Don't just direct me. Help me figure this out.

02:59And he beat me up properly.
