What we're sort of getting loud and clear is that this is going to be a very different
00:06
administration from the sort of the turbulent years under Johnson and across the sort of
00:10
the seven weeks under Liz Truss.
00:12
And Richie Sunak, who's, you know, he didn't make it for two years, was quite clearly sort
00:16
of dealing with lots of embedded problems.
00:19
So there is a desire to sort of to, as I say, to sort of change, to sort of to create sort
00:24
of better opportunities and prosperity.
00:26
And indeed, of course, the sort of great British energy, which has just been announced by the
00:29
government, that's something for the future.
00:32
The only concern I do have, dare I sort of say, is that it's going to take a lot of time
00:35
to sort of bed in.
00:36
And I think the sort of the electorate are pretty sort of fickle.
00:39
And if they don't sort of feel there's change happening immediately, and by that I sort
00:43
of mean within sort of perhaps sort of six months, they might start to get twitchy because,
00:47
of course, that's the nature of the opinion polls.
00:49
So far, so good.
00:50
Of course, the sort of the one big problem that Labour have had was the sort of the child
00:54
benefit, which, of course, was an SNP amendment.
00:57
And dare I sort of say it, they sort of had a revolt on that one of seven other MPs.
01:02
As I say, there is such expectation that the country is going to change for the better.
01:06
And indeed, the latest economic news is all very good.
01:09
So Labour have sort of been lucky thus far.
01:11
But dare I say it, that's how sort of new Labour under Tony Blair started.
01:14
But of course, as we sort of know, we've got the sort of the war in Ukraine, which, of
01:19
course, is still creating sort of a lot of tension.
01:22
And indeed, I sort of, yeah, the view is that that's going to sort of rumble on.
01:25
And it may cause another spike in our energy bills.
01:28
So who knows?
01:29
Maybe Labour will have to sort of intervene in the way that, of course, the Conservatives
01:32
had to.
01:33
Interestingly, a poll by YouGov found that whilst four in 10 Brits think positively about
01:40
Keir Starmer winning the overall majority, 35% felt, quote, dismayed by the outcome.
01:46
I think the sort of Keir Starmer will be a lot more sort of sure-footed about the things
01:50
he gets involved in.
01:52
Quite clearly, he seems to have sort of grown into the role.
01:54
And I suspect that he's enjoying the fact that Labour are back in power after 14 years.
